I won't be going with the gold connections, at least not at that strength.
As such your title requests won't be done. :)

A desaturated god (much like the one in the image I posted :P) I think would do the trick. The different coloured connections ahve definetly added teh character that map was needing.

Are you still referring to the Title? or the family connections.

Connections, im over my title fettish for now.

Why not swap white and gold? Or is that idea a little to crazy?

I was somewhat critical of the map earlier, but I've totally changed my mind. I'm starting to really like this map. It'd be a shame if you let it go now.

As for the connections, a royal purple could be cool. I'm sure you'll come up with something good :)

I vote that this map does not get abandoned.

You made it to the foundry... come on. This is almost done. No point in giving up now if even a few people like the map.

The only educational one we have so far. ;)

Oh, you big drama queen. If you pushed thru VotK and abandon this, I'm hopping the next flight to australia so I can convince you to continue... with knuckles. 8-)

Seriously, did you expect large-scale responses to a complex map built around the family tree of a bunch of people that have been dead for 2000 years? Hell, no one gets tons of responses in their map threads any more. So if you're waiting for an avalanche of support, I feel you may be waiting for awhile. But if you still think the map is cool, then push on, and there'll be a few of us here to help. Remember when you started, it was basically you, me, and yeti for like 3 pages...

No i didn't expect a lot of response of this map, there never is for my maps because players have become frightened having to think and of course they'll vote them down. But at least now i now have feedback from let's see....4 people within an about an hour and they all want it....i did say i would give it one more try. :)

I don't think people are afraid to think cairns, I think it is a matter than maybe people play this site for casual reasons. After a hard day at school or the office many people don't want to have to exhaust alot of brain power on what is suppose to be a casual gaming site!

Thats not to say there isn't a market for the complicated mates, many people to play and love your maps because it appeals to them. Many just don't appeal to the ''casual'' gamer ;)

Yeah, I agree with that assessment. I, for example, generally avoid Waterloo, not because I don't like the map, but because I'd have to take too much time for every turn.

This map, on the other hand, is nowhere near Waterloo's complexity, and I'll probably play it much more often. It does look a little intimidating at first.

Anyway, are you working on an update, cairns? You are continuing with this, right?

I love the attack line colours now. They have added some very nice character.

Now some minor concerns:
-The title font has become very, very pixalated. I also don't think the new glow colour does it any justice.
-The legends at the bottom still looks a little slap dash to me. It doesn't fit the map theme wise. The main issue may be the flat grey backgroup colour. It is the only part of the map that isn't textured.
-I am in agreement with ink on the purple pillars. For an alternative colour I was thinking a dark green. Although some experimenting may not hurt either.
-The arches to the left of Emperor CLAUDIUS don't look very evenly put together.
-Some of the roman pillar buildings seems to have transpareny between buildings to show the red backgroud while some don't. Is this intentional? I am not sure if I like it the way it is or if I would rather see them a little more consistant.

I'm in agreement with what Ink and Gimil said. The new attack lines are really badass, Cairns :)

As for the statues, I think a golden color would work better than purple or dark green, but I can't tell for sure.

I think this sucker is ready for a gameplay stamp?

(I also can't believe I didn't notice this update until just now  )

Pixelation gone by blurring. Colours changed yet again.

Texture applied, same as the top section.

Ewww! Dark green just didn't work, sorry. Experimentation applied.
-The arches to the left of Emperor CLAUDIUS don't look very evenly put together.
That is deliberate and i think looks good.
-Some of the roman pillar buildings seems to have transpareny between buildings to show the red backgroud while some don't. Is this intentional? I am not sure if I like it the way it is or if I would rather see them a little more consistant.

Yeh, that is intentional also. I recognize that if all the buildings had a grayish background behind them, there wouldn't be any contrast behind some buildings to show the difference and flavour.

I disagree on this cairns. I would like to hear more opinions on it if you don't mind :)

Then new texture on the legends has added much needed character. Very nice! Although the general colouring of the title (and the text to the right of the title) arn't doing the map justice. Some golds and reds like the rest of the map and less glows and strokes around the text are what is needed.
