I think any of your guesses work with what I was thinking at the time. It just seems like they should be proportioned, but I don't like the feeling of boosting fae up equal to it. But I think my mind is starting to go numb from various radio waves in the atomosphere.

Well, this is the second time that Marvaddin has requested that I post my continent breakdown to help him analyze it, and then never commented on it. You're on your own next time, Marv!

Since he hasn't given his reasoning for why he feels the bonuses need changing, I've little choice but to leave them as they are. I considered raising Sol like Andy said, but I don't think I want to raise Valhalla to go with it; I'm pretty happy with Valhalla the way it is. So there you go. I'll post what might be the final version today or tomorrow.

Sorry, I was too busy doing my new map... but I agreed with Andy, anyway.

On the subject of Sol, I think the fact that you can reduce the number of points you need to defend down to just four relatively easily by taking the two adjacent Warp Gates supports not boosting its bonus. And thus not boosting Valhalla or Fae.

Here's what should be a more or less final version.

I think this should clear up the legibility issues once and for all. Not sure why I didn't think of it sooner. It also provides one last rocket option, at kingwaffle's suggestion. If this doesn't get all the seals of approval, then it's back to "...in Spaaace!"

If they haven't gotten around to suing the ancient Irish mythmakers over it yet, then I don't think they'll be coming after me.

"Space" is the title I've been working under. But when I had it on the map itself, folks accused it of being redundant.

Been vaguely watching the whole way along, and... I like it. Looks good to go. Oh one little thing:

think you could rename Tir na Nog to Tír na nÓg. As it stands it sounds like um... Tir as opposed to "Teer", and Nog (like Egg-nog) as opposed to "Nogue"- (Like rogue).

I can do that. I'd considered doing it originally, but expected lots of people to "correct" me for putting a capital letter in the middle of a word :) Lack, if you're listening, will there be any trouble with putting funky characters like that in the XML?

Oh, and any final opinions on "Space!"/"...in Spaaace!"/CC logo on the rocket before I mail it off?

I'm no lack, but there wouldn't be any problem putting that character in the xml file, because Marv already did it in the Brazil map without any problems.

My opinion: Warp the Conquer Club logo slightly to go along with the contour of the ship, moving it up a bit higher on the fuselage... and add ...in Spaaace!"

Conquer Club...
...IN SPAAACE!!!

Tell me that wouldn't be awesome!!

And it's now in lack's hands. Just for fun, I'd like to celebrate by quoting from an earlier message in the thread...

Jota wrote:This is the new map I'm working on right now. Note that the graphics are still a bit crude: I fully intend to make it nicer-looking before it's done, but I wanted some feedback on the layout before I did anything that would be too difficult to change.

And, for a comparison:

See? I told you I'd make it nicer looking.

Not specifically, but stargates do have a similar look to what I was going for.
