Well, i gotta extra coupla pounds here - they were for the curlson's teachers, but the school is shut due to a snowstorm warning - which scuppers my plans for the day, Luckily the curlette has gone into Manhattan for "Take Your Children to Work" day with her Mum.

When I was a sophmore in high school, they once cancelled school because of high gas prices. Of course, I think this was also around the time of Katrina. I don't know I can't really remember.

Oh ya. We've now had several inches of snow, the roads must be chaos. I just watched a delivery van trying to get up the hill, he was going all over the place (he made it though. the van must have Pony Express in its genes somewhere!)

ok here is my question. did the snow start before??? they cancled school. where i went to high school there had to be about 1 and 1/2 feet of snow already on the ground also it still had to be snowing

Your school is too strict. If there's snow on the ground in Atlanta, school's cancelled. Of course our snow plow service (if existing) is very bad.

No, the previous snow had all gone - but the forecast was pretty certain, and i think they were afraid of kids (and staff) being unable to get home.

This sounds like a good time for my grandfather to come in. He'd say something about how as a kid they didn't care about the potential for 15 feet of snow. They'd still make you go. And if you got stuck inside too bad, you'd have to stay there till it thawed out.

The dullest job I ever had was working a production line for Goldwell (the people that make Babycham and Snowball).
I would will myself not to look at the clock for as long as I could possibly manage, and then, sure that I'd find I was at least two hours closer to going home, I'd find out that may 8 or 9 minutes had passed.

Back when I worked at the grocery store there would be days where they would have me come in at 8 o'clock. The bad thing is the early morning rush ends by 8 and even on a busy day you'll be lucky to see more than 3 customers again by 11. So basically those three hours are some of the most boring times ever.

you all suck i live in minnesota and we get alot of snow my school districe through all 12 years of school had 3 snow days thats it or closed the school 2 snow days and 1 because a really bad wind storm casued a blackout!!! and it has snowed alot were we should not have gone to school.
