porkenbeans, eats, myturntowin (never mind...) [Settled]

*note*
By the responses I've got, I think these guys are all innocent.
Mods, please move this to the [closed] section, I was wrong for accusing them.

possibly flavanoid, also, but I'm guessing not.

The accused are suspected of:
Secret Alliance

Game number(s):

Game 3693349
Game 3693357
various other games that some combination of those people have played in.

Comments:
1. It is painfully obvious that pork, eats, and flavanoid know eachother in real life, based on their wall posts and comments in a few games
2. They are all from the USA
3. The thing that got me suspicious is part of Game 3693349. Here's a screenshot, in case it changes:
EDIT: I have since gone and destroyed all those 1 borders, so what you see in the current game isn't accurate. This image shows what it was like before I attacked.

Notice that the border at Byzantium (top left, near where I added the blue star) has a 1 on it, but red (porkenbeans) has 8 on the other end of his continent. Pink and Yellow (Eats and MyTurnToWin) could very easily break porkenbeans' continent, but they also have left ones on that border, when it would just take one or two armies forted there to break the border. Instead, porkenbeans keeps building on the other end of his continent, completely ignoring the other end.
That same setup has been there for at least three rounds with no one breaking red, when it would be so easy to do.
4. That, combined with a history of those players playing together, leads me to believe that there is some kind of secret alliance going on between the players. It just seems unrealistic that they would leave the Byzantium border completely undefended for multiple rounds without anyone breaking it. Plus their history of playing together (not all four of them, but groups of two or three) just makes it a bit suspicious.

I'm sorry, porkenbeans, I hope you aren't offended by my suspicions. You're a great guy, this just seemed a bit too suspicious for me to ignore.

I would say that this is more a case of threatening of violence. Red can't defend all his borders, so he forts to one side. pink understands that if he attacks, he will have to defend on two sides..not necessarily secret alliance.

Also - I didn't know that those 2 territories bordered each other on my first go on this map - that area of this map could do with a retouch.

As an accused am I supposed to reply to this?

First: I know none of these people off line. And am unaware of having played with them before. But who can remember every single person they have played with? I was invited to the game by one of the players. Just as I inivte people who others vouch are "good players" & "fun" & "friendly".
Second: I have NEVER done a secret alliance ever, in any game.
Third: There are no spoils. So I chose to build up and try to gain control of an area for a bonus. I left my other 8 armies on the other side as an insurance that I would remain in the game and still have a "chance" in case someone wiped me out in the other area.
Fourth: It is also not a terminator game so I see no advantage in "taking someone out"... no points or cards.
Fifth: Aren't we each allowed to choose and determine our own strategy? Even if it differs from what someone else would do?
Sixth: How would I benefit from a secret alliance? In the end only one person can win.
Seventh: My 8 yellow armies aren't next to the ones in question.
Eighth: I choose to not play on both ends of a board, can't defend two places.
Ninth: I have suspected secret alliances before.... I just put them on my Foe list and get on with having fun.

Umm i think you just busted yourself my friend.. A quick look at the picture shows that it is RED or PorkNBeans that has that 8 that is blocking that bonus...

No, look at the map picture. I have 8 yellow armies on Lydia. I chose to leave them there. That is what I am saying... I CHOSE to not attack with those 8 armies as part of my strategy to stay in the game.

Why would I attack with my other armies? Red had 8 against my 5!!!!

The complainer is about my 8 yellow armies and the pink ones in Thrace.

I suggest you reread the original complaint.
