Pointless? I was trying to bring to light some of the major accomplishments on this site. Why is someone allowed to congratulate a new colonel, yet I can't congratulate those who've won or lost games on certain maps?

You merging and locking my congratulations threads was a gross misuse of power, Night Strike. I believe we need to institute a new group of moderators, one that can keep a better eye on the current group of moderators. I nominate owenshooter to lead this group, with mpjh as Vice President in Charge of Moderation of the Moderators (big, long titles are more important than short, tiny ones). We could call the group The Babysitters' Babysitters.

Agree with the sentiment completely, but beg to differ on the method.

Far better to elegantly troll such new threads as they arrive. One thing I've noticed is that our mods are also not exactly impressed with these awful congratulatory threads either, and will probably allow you to de-rail them as they come up.

Well let's see...

I think there is a fairly large body of opinion both high and low ranked (often bandits but not always) who see these threads as a large pile of vomit. There also hasn't been too many new ones of late. The old and established ones I accept and happily ignore, but any new one better have a pretty valid reason, as I am sure some gallant poster here will take the bull by the horns and unleash a whole can of piss-take all over it.
