Concise description:

• New Officially Run Subforum to Off-Topics Forum Designated for Dispensing News Stories

Specifics:

• Just another sub forum, so that people may post links to news stories and the like, without having to draw warnings for "spam", similar to the Forum Games or Mafia Games sub fora.

This will improve the following aspects of the site:

• It will prevent further warnings for and accusations of spamming against appreciated and respected contributors to the Off-Topics forum
• It will let us have our cake and eat it too, without needlessly banishing more members of Conquer Club.

Additional Comment:

I recognize this would probably create more work for the mods at first, what with having to move all of those threads to a newly created sub forum, but it would also help establish a real guideline about what is appropriately posted in the Off-Topics forum and what is not (or, for that matter, what truly is SPAM). As mentioned above, it would let us have our cake and eat it too. Please consider this minor change to the organization of the Off-Topics forum rather than banning another valued member of Conquer Club.

Yeah... now that we've all come to an understanding that "spam" simply refers to anything someone finds annoying, it should be a much easier problem to fix. If too many news stories in TNYB is annoying to some, then we really should have a separate forum for news discussion. Whatever TNYB's real purpose is, will be free.

I've just heard that Juan has been making too many threads about various news stories, to where he got warned for spam. This might be incorrect, though...

If my suggestion is unnecessary, then so much the better.

I was just responding to receiving word that Juan was on his final warning, due to "spamming" TNYB with links to news stories.

If I am erroneous in my understanding, I apologize for taking up the forum space here. I was just thinking of a compromise to resolve any possible tension.

If it ever becomes an issue in the future, please revisit this thread before banning anyone.
