Warranted berating or bufoonery?
So, I'm in this U.S. game, and I start out with 2/4 of New England, a couple of Great Lakes, one or two in the Southeast, and some others scattered about. I take the easy plan: take New England and head south.
Due to some loaded dice, it ends up taking too many turns (and armies) for New England to be mathematically worthwhile, but I go ahead and take it out of determination (and frustration).
The Yellow guy starts laying into me because the Blue player is getting strong and I'm not weakening my position in New England to make a suicide run on Mr. Blue. I will gladly do this, but I won't weaken my New England defenses to do it because Yellow is positioned to just waltz into New England. Yellow ends up taking out a personal vendetta against me ignoring the other two players completely. I tried to be diplomatic in the chat, but ended up purposely taking myself out of the game mostly because I got tired of the guys actions and words and I wasn't going to get anywhere in the game.
1. Is it right/wrong/cowardly/smart to just bail out of the game like this? A little cowardly, but I don't need some weirdo who doesn't understand the ranking system, and I'm willing to take the loss and move on.
2. How do you deal with people who try to insist that you play the game the way they want? My diplomacy failed, obviously.
3. Would you leave feedback for this guy? I am inclined to do so.
4. Should I expect feedback from this guy? I expect retaliatory feedback, at least.

Simply put, he's a douche, and not very good at winning, when he wins a little more he could critique your strategy.. I guess he was trying to get at the fact that he likes it when people prevent eachother from winning so much that they allow someone to sit back and take the game or something.. he's odd..
I would leave feedback, I would expect retalitory feedback, I wouldnt get the retalitory feedback deleted because thats for pussies, and as for dealing with him, I'd say I try my best to win which is what anyone will do for any board game and that if he says he doesnt care about winning then tell him to purposely lose or something.

As the "douche" in question here i would like to at least clarify the facts . First of all, NOg (NOgame?) has a clear, easy shot (not a "suicide run) at the blue guy to stop him from gaining an early stronghold (4 bonus continent) in the second round of the game. He instead went for his little 2 bonus continent, giving the blue an unstoppable advantage. I let him know what i thought of his lack of courage and balls (sticks and stones you whining crybaby). I did not go after him as he says (check the log) but tried to break into blue's continent, as did the other player, but he had already gained a pretty good momentum. Still i tried and was able finally to break in, but only slowed him a little. When you give a player that much of an edge in the beginning game, you hand it to him on a platter - as did NOg. I have a low tolerance level for ignorance and cowardice, and for those who are more concerned with ratings (wtf is this fascination with ratings?) than playing a good game. So yes i was rather abusive in my comments - waa waa waa! Don't worry, i already gave you my feedback, and if you would like to give me an NF, feel free - my world will not collapse if i get one. Evidently you're scared to death of receiving one - i promise i won't ruin your life there. I'll put you on my ignore list and that will be the end of it. But for godsakes stop your damn whining!

my opinion is that red shoulda worked a deal w/ yellow, and then attacked blue, broke into da continent & retreated to his england.
From what the game shows, yellow woulda complied.
What shoulda happened is this: Red breaks in early. Blue regains continent, yellow breaks in later. Blue regains southeast bonus of 4. Greens breaks in, killing the bonus. Blue shoots himself and red wins with his superior position.
Or perhaps green makes a gay alliance with blue instead of breaking into the continent and the couple win the gaym.

Let me just reiterate one more time who sucks:
1. people who play every game trying to team up with everybody else against the biggest player and see no other way to win.
2. the above types when they get their little panties all in a bunch if anybody else at the table wants to play their game differently.

No! No! That which i feared worst has come upon me - i have been relegated to the status of a "crumb" by suckin joe and his gay coalition. And they don't want to play with me anymore. Aarrgghh. It's amazing what can happen when you start one of them whining. They attack you like a pack of maddened pomeranians - all the while dancing around in circles and pissing on themselves. And i haven't heard a word from the little bitch who started it all (NOg) since he sicced his booty buddies on me.
