Re: Obama wants to bankrupt coal?
From the looks of the chart we should bomb China. That takes care of the CD and also would bring jobs back here

As I recall, Bush was a shit sandwich, but Kerry was subbed for by a giant douche. Class acts, Trey and Matt. And brilliantly so.pimpdave wrote:RiskTycoon wrote:that's exactly the problem ... folks just don't care anymore if their president is a domestic enemy of the constitution ...
neither Obama or McCain are good candidates ... it's the choice between eating a human poop sandwich and eating a horse poop one ...
I'd much rather eat the horse poop one ... but that doesn't mean I'll enjoy it ....
If this were 2004, I'd agree with you completely. I don't think it's a choice between a shit sandwich and a bloody tampoon this time, or whatever it was that South Park used as an analogy back then...
But anyways, although I think some Obama fans think way too highly of him and what he's gonna do for the country, I don't know how the objective analyst can not be relieved that we're finally going to run the cartel out that's been running the country for the last eight years (many more if you consider how weak/unusually hamfisted the left was in the Clinton years.) Even if we're just changing up the players who rip us off, at least it's a different set of characters doing it.
Anyways, if you're in a uber-safe state like me (yeah, McCain doesn't win Massachusetts in his wet dreams, if he still has those) you can afford to vote your conscience, as I just might. Then again, the chance to vote a big-party candidate you kinda agree with doesn't come along that often. I should probably take advantage.

He is going to raise our taxes for everyone who makes over $42,000 a year (like he voted for already), increase our dependency on Foreign Oil, Coal & natural Gas. He will impose more regulations on industries like car manufacturers & Coal and when places like Detroit go under and jobs are lost because they can't make a profit as other countries don't have those regulations, they will then blame the other party and unfair trade laws instead of their radical environmentalist friends and the policy suggestions they gave them to support.

Nope, just one of the McCain Darliks spinning around now that the central brain is dead.

Will we have enough power for our computers to play Risk when Obama bankrupts our coal plants. I suppose we will but will just have to pay 10 times the price like he said, thats ok then.
Re: Obama wants to bankrupt coal?
Why is that so bad? Of course I've never been in the US, but if Obama is a good president, he should hopefully turn the country and around. By paying more taxes, you bring more money into the country, which in turn could allow your pay to go up in a round about way.PopeBenXVI wrote:He is going to raise our taxes for everyone who makes over $42,000 a year (like he voted for already),
You need the country to be wealthy before you can make the people wealthy.

Re: Obama wants to bankrupt coal?
Incorrect - taxes are poor for the economy. They create a deadweight loss (or something like that. Shit, I'm an econ major and I'm forgetting the BASICS ahaha). Overall, simply know that taxes definitely kill an economy and send it to hell.Skittles! wrote:Why is that so bad? It just so happens that [generally] a country in debt and debt spending hurts the economy more than the deadweight loss created from taxes. Thus we have the problem with the current Republican philosophy. Whilst the economy does do better under tax cuts, it only booms temporarily as our national debt is assraping us and catches up as the economic expansion generally slows down.
