oh dear this is all too depressing, when will they ever be satisifed...i don't know if i can carry on with this stuff of constantly having to please people who constantly complain.
Re: WWI: OTTOMAN EMPIRE [I] [VACATION]
seems like he's either talking about me or yeti or just venting in general about running in circles/walls and up seemingly never ending hills
either way, cairnswk, sometimes you're too sensitive about this stuff. in the past you've often snapped at people for basically nothing and come back and apologise later. putting it on vacation is much better than that. we're just trying to make your map better. I'm not going to pat your head and tell you all the things that are great about your map (which often is a lot). I'm going to tell what doesn't work to make the map better. if you don't like that then I won't do it anymore.

edbeard, yes this was aimed at you unfortunately, and this time i'm not going to apologise.edbeard wrote:seems like he's either talking about me or yeti or just venting in general about running in circles/walls and up seemingly never ending hills

i don't beleive your trying to make the map better, but rather looking after your own self interests of how you see that map should be made. Well this time i don't agree with you. Simple. If you don't like what i present then please do stay away.

Re: WWI: OTTOMAN EMPIRE [I] [VACATION]
I'm liking the look of this map, but I feel that because of the Italy and France bordering for a bonus of 1 people in that area can easily expand, so maybe we could make it so that "Italy + France" earn a bonus, otherwise, in my opinion, it seems overpowered

2. new continent "bars"
3. images added
4. borders enhanced

Could you try to join the British and Kuwait words, so that they are one still one on top of another, but closer together? It is hard to tell that it is part of the same territory name with one work being on top of the territory, and the other at the bottom. I would suggest making them both to the right and center of the army circle so that both are in the lighter part of the Red Sea.

Re: WWI: OTTOMAN EMPIRE [I] V11(p13)
The river going through Anglo-Egyptian Sudan and British Egypt looks a bit out of place.... possibly it is too dark? If it were subtler it might blend slightly better??
I've been looking at the region names, and they just seem to grate with me.... Great Britain isn't on the map - you have British territories, but not Great Britain. It;s the same with Italy and France - they're Italian and French... I know you've changed them before, but it's got to the stage where it just bugs me, for no other reason than it sounds wrong
Apart from those niggles, and my uncertainty about the coastline effect (the seas looks odd with that thick band of darker colour), the map is shaping up nicely

Um, shouldn't the Central Powers heading in the legend be, well, not that? Unless the Entente was playing both sides.

Nice work Cairns - the new look and legend and wording in that legend all look spot on now.

Re: WWI: OTTOMAN EMPIRE [I] V12(p13) - Small fixes
It's looking good (as always
)
I've just noticed that the river starts just off the bottom edge of the map - is that intentional, or is it supposed to start off the map? I'm wondering if the river could have a slight bluey/green tinge to it, to emphasise that it's a river?
The attack rule for the British Ports could do with a little clarification - possibly changing it to "All British Ports connect to each other" will help people to realise that it's not just ports in the same sea.
Does British Egypt border Akbah? My intuition tells me 'yes', but I'm not convinced
The pink glow around Alexandria looks funny - should there be a glow on the British Egypt side of the boundary too? It's making me have strange doubts about whether the two territories border!
