How do you feel about people who start a tournament and then abandon it, either to another organizer or to the ether?

I have a strange feelilng that this question is pointed at me (about the tournament that I abandoned).

I feel that the responsible thing to do, is to get another organizer to take it over, but sometimes that's not possible.
