Born in NYC Lower East Side in 1920, Abraham " Benny" Engelberg passed away in his sleep. a veteran of World War II and an engineer by trade.
Benny had no children but, left me in charge of disbursing a set amount of money so that i could give others some joy. i also donated to a scholarship fund.
he leaves behind 2 siblings and several nephews and nieces.
he was a good person. I will miss him.
the future gifts will be done via pm's. no more announcement forum.
he had pulmonary problems. at the end he was attached to breathing tubes and, in the hospital. i'd go visit him every other week cause the drive is long.
It was before thanksgiving that he passed but, it has always been a tradition in my family that way before you pass on you are given what's yours so, i thought this was the best way.
he gave me the money back in Feb. 2006 when he was still okay.
he told me i needed a new car and to do whatever i wanted with the rest. so, i got a 2006 subaru outback and have been giving the rest away.
that's all. i believe in pay forward. a good deed done should be passed on.
I'd also like to say that was a great thing you did RD both for CC and all the people you helped. Hopefully you will encourage others to be as generous.
Qeee1 RD is actually a girl

I am sure your Uncle Benny would be proud of you, you serve his memory well. We all should be thankful for his service to his country and his generosity. The scholorship is important and the CC gifts fun if not a bit frivolous. Something I would venture to guess makes Benny smile!
I raise a glass in a toast of a final Thank You too both you and Uncle benny!
Damn girl........you are a shining star and set an outstanding example for the rest of us to follow. Selflessness is truly one of the great human traits. Thank you for helping many of my friends here to Millie...I tuly appreciate your generosity! I wish the best to you and yours my dear.....

Wow am I dumb. RogDog sent me my PM too, telling me that I had gotten I premium. I have always liked her, so I am not surprised in the least it was her, but it just confirms how great and generous a person she is.
I guess I didnt think it was you because you said it wasnt and to me your word is as good as gold.
