Map Organization

Concise description:

• I would like Map Organization added to the To Do list.

Specifics:

• The merits of this feature have been discussed at length in the foundry. Please see this thread: http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewto ... 27&t=49352

This will improve the following aspects of the site:

• Organize maps by newness, popularity, content, size, # of territories, etc.
• Allow map info to be easily accessible to all. Map info includes all of the above features, as well as mapmaker.
• Improve the interface to meet the site objective of becoming more user-friendly.

They can't be organized by all of those (as they are currently organized alphabetically), and lack has done a little work on the start a game screen and gamefinder already

Why couldn't there be multiple ways to sort the maps? It's just like shopping for shoes at Zappos.com. You can sort by size, color, style, width, material, etc. The ideal set-up allows these sorts to be employed sequentially such that I could (for example) look for maps with over 100 territories, then added in the last 6 months, then least often played. This would yield only a couple maps most likely, but it would be the specific type I desire for a certain game.

I'm not aware of any major changes to the start a game or game finder screens. They look just as they did when I joined 8 months ago, and there's nothing in the site headlines about those updates. Regardless, this has little bearing on the much needed map sorting feature.

Map organization/sorting has been extensively discussed on 2 separate occasions. The final details will obviously be left to Lack. I was just hoping to bump this idea once again so it would be added to the To Do list.
