Wrestling legends
I created a poll with all the active wrestlers but everyone kept saying they prefer the legends...

Re: Wrestling legends
Lol i remember wrestling, in the old days i used to watch the British wrestling that used to be on, the lads in the army used to force me to watch it by majority votes on what to watch, big daddy being one of the wrestlers.
Ten years on your' American wrestling came to camp, this time Sgt slaughter, hulk hogan and undertaker were the ones i remember. By then i started to get into it, because there was nothing on.
Another ten years and a new generation are forcing me into watching it, this time undertakers brother, the red guy with the mask came and things got interesting and rowdy that DX gang was right up my alley, so funny i always used to watch it at the camp.
Another one they watched was "WCW" which was alright with those guys that used to beat everyone up.
So about 22 years of watching wrestling has.... well.... left me in a way, emotionally scarred considering that was the only TV in the whole camp watching it through Iraq, ireland, the falklands on 5 different continents.
but hey wrestling ain't the worst, beats eastenders.
where the f*ck is big daddy?!.

Re: Wrestling legends
Coming into the ring, doing a spear on a nobody and getting the win in less than 30 seconds, and then posing/flexing for the crowd for 2 minutes in 60% of that winning streak hardly qualifies as being a legend.muy_thaiguy wrote:Goldberg. The guy had a huge win streak in WCW.

Never was much for Lesnar. And it looks like his attitude was a show, because it's the exact same in the UFC.GabonX wrote:Where are Brock Lesnar and Ken Shamrock?

He's a monster. I like him for that and because he works with Randy Couture.muy_thaiguy wrote:Never was much for Lesnar. And it looks like his attitude was a show, because it's the exact same in the UFC.GabonX wrote:Where are Brock Lesnar and Ken Shamrock?
He totally dominated in his last fight to. It was to the point where his opponent kept rolling over so that he wouldn't get hit as much because the back of his head was exposed.

I wouldn't say 60% were on new faces, because he took on several well established wrestlers, and even some tag teams.savant wrote:Coming into the ring, doing a spear on a nobody and getting the win in less than 30 seconds, and then posing/flexing for the crowd for 2 minutes in 60% of that winning streak hardly qualifies as being a legend.muy_thaiguy wrote:Goldberg. My younger siblings were on the receiving end of many a Von Erich/Iron claw. I can feel their temples turning to mush just thinking about it.

Re: Wrestling legends
Sorry - Ric Flair was heads and shoulders above everyone else. I hated to see him retire. He not only could out wrestle most anybody, he could make them look better than they actually were. He acted, looked, and was a champion's champion.
I will admit though, that while I hated to see him retire, it was long past due. He should have moved to a manager's position or general manager or behind the scenes rather than losing to people he never would have in his prime (circa mid 80's and 90's).
He had some of the best matches - Ricky the Dragon, Sting, Dusty Rhodes too name a few from a very long list.
