Ok, obviously not being fireedud i cant know exactly what he was thinking, however i suspect he was dubious, like i would have been, of someone doing absolutely nothing, and then claiming cop, and having found scum the first go. The chances were very unlikely. It may come across as defending him but i think it was more being careful.

Well duh, someone who was in fact the cult leader claims out of nowhere a scum result. Give me just one other possibility for that to happen. Of course that doesn't mean so much about Fireedud since he was kinda unlikely choice for recruitment but I don't think that logic is wrong.
