no, it's because he was on his last warning. He was supposed to be perma-banned for his next offense.

First of all, thank you for a rationale response.

I wouldn't be pleased if CC was shut down either. I simply see it from a different view. People know the forum guidelines because they're clearly posted. When someone violates the guidelines then they receive a consequence. It hardly seems like someone is a victim if they've been warned and they still proceed to purposefully violate the rule. I think some people here are not thinking objectively because Suggs was such a likable guy. It will be a lesser place here without him but that's the consequence for his deliberate action.

My problem is that people are trying to portray Suggs, Norse, or whomever as a righteous crusader. They're actually praising him for trying to get Lack's goat. Suggs provoked him. Lack reacted appropriately in my opinion, although 6 months might be too long.

I think it's a stretch though to say that Lack's rolling over people. As long as you're willing to be reasonable you're not going to be at risk of a ban. If certain people can't restrain themselves then they should look for another place to post. Another alternative is to create a forum with a different set of rules.

That's rubbish. If you think the best thing about this forum is someone who is usually vitriolic and condescending, then there is not much hope. Why bother reading if all you think is 'what a yawn'. Its people like you that is bringing these forums down with inane comments that they think are witty and intelligent.

Yeah, this place gets more negative every day. Anytime you tell someone who complains about the mods that they don't have to stay, the somehow feel indignant as it's their right to complain here. Instead of one of the two splinter forums. People need to stop their nonsense and get over it so the site can move on.

Actually, I think that it can. Forums will probably become a totally dull place for a while, but there is no money in Forums anyway, so who gives a damn about them. In a year or three, a new generation of CC 'Vets' will come along and the site will go on as smoothly as it does now, plus a few hundred new players with post count stuck at permanent 0. We are all expendable and the loss of any one of us is totally irrelevant for CC inc.

Given this fact I would like to say just one more thing, just in case some Troll digs up this thread many years from now: "Hi kids! Your expendable too!"

I made a dumb joke, and most of you won't get it, because it's probably only funny in my own head.

Let me try to lay it out for you. The more we post about suggs and how awesome he is and how unjust it is that he was banned, etc. the more we build up in our own minds the personality of suggs. So when he does come back, if we've built it up too much, he'll never be able to live up to the legend. So I was trying to satirize that possibility with the second line, and with the first line, was more or less too briefly stating what I have just now in this paragraph, because too many threads like this will ruin suggs; putting him on a pedestal from which he can't escape.
