First of all, thank you for a rationale response.Frigidus wrote:Well, I don't know about you guys, but I wouldn't be pleased if CC was just shut down. Sure, everyone has the right to do things. That doesn't mean that their right is the correct choice. If I care about something and it's being shut down I complain. I don't meekly let people roll over me, whether or not they own a website. Just because it isn't my say doesn't mean I don't have an opinion. Hell, perhaps we should just leave politics to the politicians, when it comes down to it we don't have any real impact.
I wouldn't be pleased if CC was shut down either. I simply see it from a different view. People know the forum guidelines because they're clearly posted. When someone violates the guidelines then they receive a consequence. It hardly seems like someone is a victim if they've been warned and they still proceed to purposefully violate the rule. I think some people here are not thinking objectively because Suggs was such a likable guy. It will be a lesser place here without him but that's the consequence for his deliberate action.
My problem is that people are trying to portray Suggs, Norse, or whomever as a righteous crusader. They're actually praising him for trying to get Lack's goat. Suggs provoked him. Lack reacted appropriately in my opinion, although 6 months might be too long.
I think it's a stretch though to say that Lack's rolling over people. As long as you're willing to be reasonable you're not going to be at risk of a ban. If certain people can't restrain themselves then they should look for another place to post. Another alternative is to create a forum with a different set of rules.

I think the crisis on CC is threads like this. What a yawn.
If only suggs were here, he'd show you how funny and awesome he is and why we miss him so much.

That's rubbish. If you think the best thing about this forum is someone who is usually vitriolic and condescending, then there is not much hope. Why bother reading if all you think is 'what a yawn'. Its people like you that is bringing these forums down with inane comments that they think are witty and intelligent.pimpdave wrote:I think the crisis on CC is threads like this. What a yawn.

Funny really, because that post was both vitriolic and condescending... and so far as I could tell, it wasn't witty or intelligent either.Gypsys Kiss wrote:That's rubbish. No employee status = no confidentiality.pancakemix wrote:Or when you post confidential multi-hunting info on a splinter forum. That could do it.Joodoo wrote:Thanks for notifying us william, I didn't even notice the banning of wicked![]()
I guess once you get demoted, you're very vulnerable to getting banned...
Actually, I think that it can. Forums will probably become a totally dull place for a while, but there is no money in Forums anyway, so who gives a damn about them. In a year or three, a new generation of CC 'Vets' will come along and the site will go on as smoothly as it does now, plus a few hundred new players with post count stuck at permanent 0. We are all expendable and the loss of any one of us is totally irrelevant for CC inc.Frigidus wrote:But the site can't move on if all the interesting people are banned. That's kind of our complaint.pancakemix wrote:Yeah, this place gets more negative every day. Anytime you tell someone who complains about the mods that they don't have to stay, the somehow feel indignant as it's their right to complain here. Instead of one of the two splinter forums. People need to stop their nonsense and get over it so the site can move on.Juan_Bottom wrote:I've only been here a short time and I can feel the attitude on the site changing...
It's a different atmosphere here than before... And I for one, do not enjoy it. The games are still fun, but the forums are so full of unhappy people. And the forums for me are like 40% of what this site is about.
Given this fact I would like to say just one more thing, just in case some Troll digs up this thread many years from now: "Hi kids! Your expendable too!"

Re: CC Crisis 1
I made a dumb joke, and most of you won't get it, because it's probably only funny in my own head.
Let me try to lay it out for you. The more we post about suggs and how awesome he is and how unjust it is that he was banned, etc. the more we build up in our own minds the personality of suggs. So when he does come back, if we've built it up too much, he'll never be able to live up to the legend. So I was trying to satirize that possibility with the second line, and with the first line, was more or less too briefly stating what I have just now in this paragraph, because too many threads like this will ruin suggs; putting him on a pedestal from which he can't escape.

NO.
Now you're going too far the other direction.
I'm just saying don't turn the guy into a "mythical being", cause it's a standard no one can live up to, and will only subvert suggs' return, not aid it.

Suggs, I'll keep all your hobby-horses clean, and dust off your soap-box every day or so. I've borrowed your wank mags (I'll try not to wear them out), and i'll try and keep the

Now if someone could just post random shit to the "guess the movie" game, I think we've got you covered.
All the best mate see ya sometime.

When indicating possession of a word that ends in s, no extra s is needed. Also, those are two run-on sentences.Juan_Bottom wrote:Then take a walk to one of those.
