Re: Regarding wicked (part 2)
im board of this fiasco... lol, This is one of those things that needs to slow to a hault before more argueing hurts the community... sad to see wicked go, but if its true it had to be done, anything said besides that is well... wasted finger exersize...
Re: Regarding wicked (part 2)
My concern is how much of our personal info did she have access to. If she is that vindictive, does she have my credit card # that I bought membership with? Does she have my real name and address? I doubt I caused enough trouble to ever be on her radar, but I watch 20/20 and stranger things have happened. I do worry about my credit card info though. What is to keep her from stealing a few identities and opening some cards.
I think Lack/Twill/someone needs to let us know what access she did have, and what is being done to protect our info.

Re: Regarding wicked (part 2)
I sincerely doubt our information is at risk from Wicked, even if she did have access. There is a HUGE leap from taking someone's personal information ... a real, CRIMINAL offense (even in the international forum) and even nasty sabotage of a game site.jbrettlip wrote:My concern is how much of our personal info did she have access to. None-the-less, this does bring up a legitimate issue. If our private information is not secure and held with limited access ... it should be.

Re: Regarding wicked (part 2)
But apparently she didn't have a problem with divulging other secret or private info about the site. And she was part of CC, so she wouldn't be a 3rd party. The question is if she had access to this. Not if anyone thinks she would use it. She probably wouldn't since it would be a criminal offense. But if she never had access to it, then I wouldn't have to worry about it.

However, I think the confusion arises over just who "Conquer Club" constitutes. That is, in some cases mods do represent Conquer Club, but I gather not in this instance? That is, I believe (?) that mods have access to make forum changes and so forth, but not to the original enrollment information for players? (am I correct?)
Re: Regarding wicked (part 2)
The only private info available is your email address - which you chose whether or not should be shown on the site...jbrettlip wrote:But apparently she didn't have a problem with divulging other secret or private info about the site. And she was part of CC, so she wouldn't be a 3rd party.
Whether or not Mods can access that - I don't know... - It is a valid point.
Are IP Addresses also classified as private info? - if so then she had access to those too!!

Re: Regarding wicked (part 2)
That is hardly an answer. It reflects a policy that doesn't allow CC to sell its membership list to other mailing lists. It has nothing to do with how our info is managed internally, adn who has access to it.PLAYER57832 wrote:Our answer, thanks!yeti_c wrote:C.FAQ wrote: Privacy Policy

So, mods do not have access to our real addresses and names?yeti_c wrote:The only private info available is your email address - which you chose whether or not should be shown on the site...jbrettlip wrote:But apparently she didn't have a problem with divulging other secret or private info about the site. I, personally ... and I think most people, did not even begin to seriously suspect Wicked of taking that stuff. However, it did bring up a real and serious question. Because Wicked is not truly criminal, does not mean others won't be ...at some point.willis wrote:wicked wrote:I didn't have access to credit card info and even if I did, I'd NEVER do something like that

Actually, I think it more likely that some outside hacker would take the stuff than that a mod would.
However, I think we could use some clarification on just what mods have access to ... and perhaps how securely our personal information is held. (no more than I would expect from any entity).

I think when I signed up I paid by Paypal - so CC doesn't have that info for me...
However - if you use the CC payment then I guess it does have that info.

Re: Regarding wicked (part 2)
One thing no one has mentioned yet. Whether the mods do or don't have access to our personal information (and its sounding like they don't). Lack CERTAINLY has access to the mods real personal information. That alone makes it HIGHLY unlikely even a criminally minded mod would try that. And it makes it relatively likely they would be caught.
Re: Regarding wicked (part 2)
Lack pm'd me that CC does not keep credit card numbers. So even if she did steal all the info CC has, it would not include that. He sent me more info, but I am not posting it, unless he says it is ok to quote his pm.

I think wicked should not have been banned, banning wicked was not right, she wasn't trolling and I was with her most of the time in chat.

The agreement that she signed also has a clause against using personal information of our members for any other purpose than multi hunting. Of course, that doesn't mean she'll respect it, but there isn't so much damage she can do there. I made sure to pull the plug on her access before asking her to step down so that she doesn't try to sabotage things or collect personal info. But even if she did the worst it could be is your IP and email (maybe full name too) because we never store credit card numbers.

Re: Regarding wicked (part 2)
Thank you for posting that. It is reassuring, to say the least. Despite whatever wicked may or may not do or has done, our knowing what exposures are open to someone in a position of power is important, since the capacity for malfeasance is obviously diminished by possible options for engaging in it.jbrettlip wrote:lackattack wrote:hey there,

Re: Regarding wicked (part 2)
I'm glad to read the PM from lack, and, assuming it's accurate, it averts the potential for truly devastating events to ruin the site.
I think that it's amazing how many people are making it a crusade to stand up for wicked. She performed poorly as a moderator and frequently changed her positions on things based on who she got along with better. There was no objectivity to her rule enforcement as the rules would change from decision to decision.
It's also unnerving that so many people take her at her word about her illness. There is no actual evidence, aside from her posts, that she had lyme disease and it would not have been out of character for her to have made the whole thing up. This is the internet people, anyone can say anything and while she probably was sick in some capacity it doesn't justify her maliciousness.

Re: Regarding wicked (part 2)
The fact that he removed her access before giving her the 'bad' news only confirms that's she was indeed ripe for the mental asylum. It doesn't rule out however that she grabbed all the information before she got booted.jbrettlip wrote:lackattack wrote:hey there,
