Regarding wicked...

As you may already know, wicked is no longer part of Team CC.

You might be wondering why - what "our" side of the story is. Well, this is a personal issue between her and Conquer Club's administration and I don't feel it's right to discuss the details in public.

I'll just say she wasn't asked to step down because she had Lyme's disease, or because she had disagreements with us. There was no one thing that decided it - it was a culmination of things behind and in front of the scenes. What made it all the more difficult, was the fact that she was a key part of Conquer Club's personality, and her and I had shared many good times and laughs.

I've been talking with wicked about how to part ways amicably for well over a week now, and I'm disappointed by her choice to do otherwise. But I'd still like to go ahead and post what I had planned to say, because it is true and the bottom line:

Since wicked had became a moderator 2 years ago she has volunteered an unbelievable amount of time. She's helped out in so many ways from assisting newbies to confronting trouble makers to dealing with loads of feedback conflicts to watching over live chat. The Conquer Club community is what it is today in large part because of her efforts and we really do appreciate her contribution.

I personally hold no ill feelings toward wicked, how could I after all she has done? I wish wicked lots of fun participating in the game and our special community as a member-at-large.

After all, CC is all about fun. I want you to have fun and I want our volunteers and staff to have fun helping you have fun. That's the way I've always envisioned how this website should be. Yes, this all sucks, a lot, but I'll continue to pour my life into keeping CC centred on fun.

While you at it (pouring I mean), I suggest that you pour some of your attention toward the fact that (as far as I have noticed) the faithful members (those who have been a part of these forums for a year or more) are unanimously agreeing that the Forums had been more fun and had better atmosphere before you decided to give the ultimate power over these forums to Twill. By keeping him in that position, despite repeated protest of Forum users, you have shown how little you care about fairness or user's opinions. While this is certainly your right, I think it is a little naive of you to expect that we will believe your side of the story over Wicked's, who really worked on making these forums fun and troll-free as opposed to your hire-Twill-and-how-you-won't-have-to-be-bothered-again approach.

I think with the ammount of information that Wicked has already disclosed, she would be open to you being open and honest about your side of the matter.

I just think it would be easier for us all to accept if we knew the facts... because right now it dosn't look good.

Still don't get it - any business owner has the right to fire someone he/she doesn't want. It is apparent she was fired *after* the lyme disease, correct? If so, lack afaik isn't breaking any laws. I still say the only discussion possible is to discuss *how* the firing was taken place... because that's really the only issue. He has no obligation to tell the community anything. He could also probably get in trouble for disclosing the personal reasons for firing her. It is EXTREMELY unprofessional for an employer to publish why he fired an employee, as firing is usually for some deemed reason of incompetence. It doesn't matter how the community feels as it's not their decision nor should it ever be who the company decides to hire. A business owner should always get the say in where a company is headed, whether or not it's smart decision.

I posted this in the other thread and I am going to post it here as well. It seems that a lot of people here are quick to shout there opinions about how this site sucks and is going to crap but I don’t hear anyone offering to step up and take the responsibility. Everyone is quick to complain about what needs to be done but there is a lot of looking to the sky and whistling hoping that the finger is going to pass you by when the work actually needs to be done. No one has stepped up and said that they would be willing to do Twill or Lacks job and I would be very skeptical of anyone who did.

I'm not sure why people think that this site should be a democracy. This site is already the epitome of democracy. The governing body does what they feel is in the best interest of the people and the people shit all over it and complain about everything. And unfortunately the people who are satisfied with the site are the ones that say nothing so only the idiots and jerkoffs are the ones that are heard. Take a look at how your democratic countries are run. I don’t ever remember being asked to vote on gay marriage or the war in Iraq. The only thing I voted for was Liberals or Conservatives. When the governing party decides to sack one of its members I am never asked for my opiion on the issue. When you signed up for this site you were voting for the governing body and that is what you get. If you have a problem with what they are doing then leave and find a site that you agree with. Try Landgrab, I hear they really cater to the playing community

And what makes you think that because you pay for the service you own the site. Just because you by a bag of Doritos does not mean you own the company. This is not a publicly traded site that you can find on the stock market. If you’re not happy with what you are paying for then go back to your free 4 games at a time and Shut the Hell up. Lack is providing us with a great place to play a game that we love to play. You ungrateful bastards need to realize that you owe him not the other way around. Maybe you who are so quick to complain should start your own site and run it the way you like. In the mean time be happy with what you've got.
