Re: freestyle or sequential?
ffs - will everyone stop banging on about who goes first. Some always has to go first.
In any sequential game with over 3 players, it's fairer. you can place and not take a card if you want to jumble up who gets what cards when.

Re: freestyle or sequential?
I love both styles equally.

Re: freestyle or sequential?
No, not in freestyle. Everyone can go at the same time. So no, someone doesn't always have to go first, which does give quite an advantage in 1v1's.Pedronicus wrote:ffs - will everyone stop banging on about who goes first. Some always has to go first.

nrs 1,2,4,5,6 of this site are freestyle players. All great players or is something wrong with freestyle?

Re: freestyle or sequential?
i hate Freestyle it sucks!
Sequential can be a bit of a bummer if your in a game with 6 players who ALL wait 20 hours to take their shots in turn
That is my personal preference.. different styles of play suit different people

I prefer to play freestyle. It's a lot quicker and easier to win (or lose).

Re: freestyle or sequential?
I play sequential, but would play freestyle if I weren't gone 12 hours a day. Then I could sit there and wait for the perfect moment on every game.
But life must go on and I can't stand missing a steal opportunity or a win cause I wasn't there lurking in the shadows of freestyle.

Nice subtle dig....
I can play either one- excelled at both, seq and speed, some would say. Casual freestyle is another animal in itself although I've done ok in it too. Both Sj and Poo, played seq esc as well.
Re: freestyle or sequential?
Maybe it's because Freestyle games finish earlier (specially with lots of players) and they can win more points.firstholliday wrote:nrs 1,2,4,5,6 of this site are freestyle players. All great players or is something wrong with freestyle?
I think Freestyle and escalating don't go along well. There is a moment in the game when the first one to play the turn will get the cards from the weak player, and the big army bonus.
For Flat Rate and No Cards, Freestyle seems to be ok, and even better because you are guaranteed a turn every 24 hours.
