f*ck i wish we'd get some rain it was about 113 yesterday today was about 100 but shit i would love some damn rain lol

We've had nonstop storms here. It flooded outside my trailer(no It's not on a flood plain) and the water was about 4 inches from going inside. It's for sale, but if you want to look at it you better bring a boat.
But right here, storms have knocked the power out 3 times this week alone. And I'm not counting the little outages. It's getting old.
But, I do prefer going without power for 11 hours to 113 degree temps.

well since you put it that way i would prefer the heat then a flood the city next to us floods sometimes but not very long and its not that bad you just have to find another way around the road but i wouldn't know how to handle a flood i think i'll just chill by the pool and take the 113 heat

As for banners, my favorite is probably the small black IPU. But we could also throw in a teapot there for good measure. It's kinda funny that there's a surprisingly large number of symbols to represent a lack of religious beliefs.

I actually tried a teapot earlier. It didn't look so good, at least not with the teapot I tried it with. But here, try to spot the teapot in this one.

Exactly. A believe in science over faith is not a religion in any sense of the word.

Here you say there are not many traditions and what not. As usual, you are off by one. There are none. No traditions, no moral codes (although it seems like many Atheist are Humanists as well, and I would argue have a much better moral code than just the Bible would teach), no nothing. The only thing in common is the lack of a believe in a supernatural creator or whatever you want to call it. It is not a religion in any sense of the word.

I don't think Godless Heathens describes us well enough. It sounds too much like an insult Jesus Freaks would try to use, than a title to be proud of.

I'm thinking something along the lines of "The Uninfected Mind" sounds good.... considering that we don't have a severe case of mental virus (meme).

The signature looks good.... but it has too much text. I like the quotes but they take up too much space, we need something smaller like, "My Teapot Trumps Your God" or something else clever. I've got a fair amount of creativity in me.

But that is the beauty of the name. It is an insult - one we don't care about and have made our own. As far as sigs go, feel free to come up with your own. Personally I like the quotes. People will read them once, and every time they see the sig, they will probably remember. It won't be a lot of reading, they are easy enough to skip over if somebody wants to.

Now this is a very interesting idea. I am a non-believer, I wouldn't go as far as to call myself an Athiest as that presents an image of someone who opposes religion instead of just not believing in it.

Now another term you can consider for a name would be Hamanist Brigaide. The term secular humanist is also used to describe non-believers.

I'm so glad you didn't try to go with something scientific like Darwin's Army of Evolutionists or something like that. In other forums I participate in, whenever this subject comes up, people immediately try to tie you to evolution thus creating a rift with the creationist theorizers. Not all believers dispute evolution so that sidelines them from the discussion.

This approach is much better. I like it!

AND to Smokingdude420, Bravo. So many people non-believers included, do not know the origins of the things you mentioned, like St. Patrick's day and the ways holidays are celebrated. The christmas for instance was used in the celebration of the Winter Solstice.

I hear the argument all the time from my Christian friends telling me I have nothing to lose by "believing." What they don't seem to understand is that I am simply incapable of believing in God. I simply don't have the capacity to believe in things that do not present themselves in a form I can use my five senses to understand. I do believe Jesus existed as a human being though. His footprint is undenyable. The other thing that drives me from the religious way of thinking is that if I am going to do good or bad in this world, I only have myself to thank or blame. That also is a difficult thing for religious folks to grasp. They assume if you don't believe in God, you live immorally. That simply is not the truth. We are just driven by a different set of guidelines - guidelines we ourselves create and live within.
