I wasn't aware it's not aloud (as was specifically indicated on the game chat). Moreover, as indicated in the chat, I was certain it's aloud. If I wanted to go behind the back of anyone or be dishonest in any way, I would have not done it on chat.

and to the point:
1. It was an inocent(!!!) offer as indicated from the chat.

I kindly request to reconsider the panalization.

I would welcome any remark by the other players as well, after reading this massage.

Hi QP,

1. I appreciate your point that you might not be aware of the rule beforehand. I appreciate that you just played less then 200 games on this site. But nevertheless the rules are rules and must be followed.
2. The request was NOT innocent. It was aimed against all other players in group D. How would you like that to be done against you?
3. If something WOULD happen then you would have been disqualified right on the spot. And most likely you would have been banned from CC. You got penalty just for trying to do that.
4. I have consulted several players on this site about the issue. Including 2 Tournament Directors: Optimus Prime and Night Strike. Both of them have approved my line of actions.

I am sorry, but the penalty will stay. To be honest I was considering more harsh penalty then that.

PS. For what it is worth, by the look of it, you still will make it to the top 6 in your group.

Maybe:

in round 1 we have 36 teams
in round 2 we have 20 teams
in finals we have 8 teams

in round 1 we have 4 groups of 9
in round 2 we have 2 groups of 10
in finals we have 1 group of 8

but really you are the tourney guru Andrew.. whatever you want.

I c.

Fırst, to clarify, when I say 'innocent' I mean - I was certain I'm within the limits of the rules (as the chat can attest to).
And thus as to your question - I would had no problem if others would have done the same thing (thinking it's aloud).

Second, this tournament is a great one and I enjoyed it tremendously up to now.
But, I feel I can not accept your ruling.

It's not all about the loss of points. It's also about the bad air around the event. Tournament are supposed to be fun and I probably will not enjoy ıt after this afaır.

Adding all together, I decided to quit the tournament.
I thank u again for a great tournament and best of luck to everyone in it.

I hope u'll let my partner chose another partner and continue (if he so wishes).

As I was saying I understand that you may not know the rule. But rule still applies. And too bad that you have decided to quit :(

Let me give you another perspective to this whole affair which may change your mind.

If I am speeding and I get caught I will receive a penalty - traffic ticket. Even though I didn't know that the speed limit was that much (I missed the traffic sign).

So what will I do? I would argue the ticket for sure. But in the end I will accept it and pay it. There is no escaping from that.

Does it make me a criminal? No
Will I stop driving all together? No
Will I stop driving on that road where I got caught? No
Will I be watching my speed in the future, especially on that road? You bet.

I hope you will make the similar judgment and stay in the tournament. ;)

It would be a shame to see such a strong competitor to drop out.

that would be more difficult to pick up 18 teams out of 4 groups :(

why? pick best nrs 4 and either playoffs for the other 2 spots or best 2 of the nrs 5 go thrue.
They use this in wc football qualifications also.

But i'm happy with whatever you decide.
