Tournament flakes!!

Post by cgblack »

We need to create a tournament flake thread and post the names of all people who flake out on tournaments so we can publically shame them! I propose a Scarlet Letter F (flake) on their forehead should be the minimum acceptable punishment! Perhaps a Medal of Dishonour!!

No, we aren't going to have a public shit-list so-to-speak about players who have dropped out of tournaments. It won't be helpful, it will do nothing but create an increase in antagonism on a site that already has enough unwarranted antagonism, and it won't fix the problem.

If an organizer has problems with a player they can contact a Tournament Director, or they can blacklist them from their tournaments. If a player has a problem with an organizer, they need to find a Tournament Director.

The post was meant somewhat tongue-in-cheek. I was hoping people might read it and think about the work that goes into organizing a tournament before half-heartedly agreeing to join one.

No, I not a jilted tournament organizer, I've just witnessed a fair bit of this recently.

Perhaps this was the wrong forum to post it in.

I found it funny! Not that I was thinking it would be the right thing to do, but I couldn't help but laugh at the "Scarlet F" and Medal of Dishonour references !
