He could gain all the points shazzats accumulated so far (none) and that way the tournamant can continue without any player missing a round (aside from sexymom). I sorta assumed that that's what the reserves are for... Am I not right?
If you think it's unfair that sexymom gets a free win and no one else does, you could remove her point and and add a game in the third round in which she could play the reserve player (assuming tournamant rules allow you to do this). Is't possible? Or no?
You can actually accomplish the same purpose by using reserves or not using reserves. Obviously in a doubles, triples or quads tournament you would have to insert a reserve to have a complete team. In singles I have noticed tournaments lately that are set up to give a player a bye if their opponent deadbeats. I figured that since shazzatpm didn't get any points in his first game I could just give everyone a bye when they were scheduled to play him. I figured the tournament players would enjoy having one round where they are guaranteed a win.
I know you are a freemium, so if your main concern is missing a round of play while you hold your spot open, I don't know why you couldn't play a game (outside of the tournament) when it's your turn for the bye. (A singles game
)
My other concern was my reserve pool. I wanted to get the tournament started as quickly as possible so didn't really wait for a strong pool. The first reserve is my aunt and she really doesn't like singles but just offered to be nice. The second reserve is my son and he would much rather be playing Xbox live and the third reserve is another friend of a friend that offered to be nice. Since none of these reserves is really over excited to be a reserve I thought I would give everyone a bye. I could call on them, but figured if I didn't have to I wouldn't.
Now if we were to lose another player, yes I would dip into the reserve pool.
Hope that helped.
