Midwest is the standard in American coloquials-- nice, mild, and pronounces every sylable. The Eastern such as hard New York is slowly being replaced by that, for the better, I might add, by the Midwest, and the South will always be seen as that hick-backwater area for proper speech in everywhere besides Florida. As well, Midwest is beginning to take over southern Canada, though Quebec will always have its frogs.

As for the UK, there's English accents I can deal with, but as well there's a few I can't understand (or stand) for the life of me, usually from the English armpit. Scottish is... intersting, though not neccessarilly understandable, and I have a penchant for Irish.

Aye, I dinnae ken whit ye're insinuatin there, bit tak it fae me, you find us hard to understand cos the Scottish ur God's chosen people, and we only mak oorselves understood tae you lesser pippil when we choose tae.

EDIT: An whit's mair, God's purpose fur us is tae govern the English, cos they cannae dae it thaesels. See the evidence:

1. Scotland has its ain government.

2. England disnae - it's ruled by the British government.

3. The heids of the British government ur:

Prime Minister Tony Blair, born in Scotland, educated in Scotland, bit hus obviously spent far tae much time in England cos he's shite.

Chancellor Gordon Broon, born and bred in Scotland, and Prime Minister-in-waitin.

Home Secretary John Reid, born and bred in Scotland, and liable to maul any bugger wha disnae keep in line.
