Re: Your Favourite Map.... new thread!
Middle East... oft-overlooked, but plays well and looks great since the revamp.
Re: Your Favourite Map.... new thread!
The Trojan War: still in map ideas forum, although there are several maps in play that are based on its graphics.

WWII ARDENNES OFFENSIVE
Re: Your Favourite Map.... new thread!
I never win on Italy - so I don't play it much. I play dustbowl the most probably. I'll play Iceland probably exclusively, as soon as Lack is over his Slack.Gilligan wrote:Saw that one comingRjBeals wrote:Iceland and Dustbowl.

CC City Mogul
seriously now, my fav is Age of Merchants because of the new gameplay it brought as well as the fact that it was my first map and some people said it will be crap and i should abandon it.
but generally speaking i love all the maps with a few exceptions (classic, circus maximus, crossword)

Going strictly on gameplay
Madness (1v1)
You don't have to work through linear equations to calculate your bonus, but it's complex enough to develop a slight edge on, and it is USUALLY possible to win either from first or from second starting position, based on adapting to your opponent.
NYC (Multiplayer)
I had some misgivings about this map, but it is by far the best "big" map I've played on. Same reasons as madness - I've only played it once, but the bonuses are what they are... there are no special kickers for holding magic items... it's fluid and the attack paths are complex and therefor has lots of possibilities.

My ever constant two last games seem to have no end in sight!
Re: Your Favourite Map.... new thread!
I haven't played a lot of the maps mentioned because there are so many new maps to choose from. I am in a game of 'New World' and I really like that map. Clean, crisp and there are ways to get all over the map fairly quickly. I like the homelands, ports and landing points alot. I'm not a fan of maps that restrict movement from one area to another, which is why I love World 2.1 and Classic so much.
There is no luck, only preparation and execution.

I like New World. It is not too complicated but still allows for tons of strategy. Plus it's really fun with fog of war on trying to guess what everyone else is doing.
Re: Your Favourite Map.... new thread!
Was seige, but now its AOR 2
Enjoyed seige because of the map qualties bonuses, having to attack outside to within the castle, but now enjoy AOR2 as is more interesting
