Limited Fortifications

Allow for limited fortifications in games:
  • Allow for middle ground between chained and unlimited
  • Option of 2-3 forts during fortification period
Specifics:
  • In 'Start a Game' provide limited fortification option and allow user to either select number of forts per turn (between 2-4) or allow them to type in which number of forts per turn can be used
This will improve the following aspects of the site:
  • Creates in between for chained and unlimited
  • Allows for new strategic element to the game if you can only fort 'x' amount of times per turn, gets rid of strategy in unlimited of giving every army away and then giving every army back.
  • Limited fort allows for different strategizing on maps, ie, on classic could fort in both Oz and South America leading to more deliberations about deployments and how to counter enemy moves
Most of these changes would be evident in team games but it would also allow for new tactics in individual play and how you organize armies and links to counter an opponent's possible double fort & then attack

You do not need to bump a post after 7 hours. If the thread falls to page two, then bump it, but 7 hours in the middle of a workday (eastern time US) is not a representative time for a bump.

I cannot decide either way on the suggestion. It would be interesting, however I am not sure this will have a chance of implementation. It would be a fourth (and maybe a fifth) option to a gameplay variant, this would create more specialization within the CC community and less interdisciplinary play.

i'd probably never use it.

Unlimited, i ususally only go crazy with in round 1, or on maps like fuelda war, pushing the castles and villages out to my fronts. otherwise, its usually just a chained fort
