Nominations for Special Contribution Medal

Post by MrBenn »

Nominations for Special Contribution Medal:
I noticed that no special contribution medals have been awarded so far. I know that lots of people contribute to the site, but there are a handful of people who, in my opinion, rise above the others.

My nominations are:
  • yeti_c
  • yeti_c dedicates a lot of time and energy to the site, and always seems willing to help and support others. His BOB utility has enhanced the CC experience for many members, and that alone is worthy of recognition.
  • widowmakers
  • widowmakers is renowned for his graphic abilities, which have been improved and refined by his commit and enthusiasm for mapmaking on this site. We wear his rank-icons and medal-icons with pride.

You forgot WidowMakers' awesome work with the CC Shop, too.

/Signed on both.

My nominations would be CairnsWk, Sully800 and Optimus Prime.

I believe I read somewhere that mods and others who were friends with the mods are less likely to get those awards. I doubt the admins want the awards to seem like a "teachers pet" type of thing.

Sounds reasonable... although I'm not too sure how it would be possible to make a "significant contribution" to the site without being friendly/respectful to the mods?

On another note, if people add a sentence or two for any nominations, I can add them to the 1st post.

I don't do anything worthy of that type of award.

Also, cairnsWK is going to be getting ~13 medals for making maps. And death2all is lack's brother. I highly doubt that those two, especially d2a will get the special contributions award. Maybe people in the mentoring program; I do not know any of their names, but I am sure one or two of them would be up for consideration.
