A "quick fix" that I use. Use the mouse scroll key. If you're using firefox, it will open up a new tab (with all links, not just on CC). Therefore, just use the mousewheel, a new tab will open up for the game joined, and you'll still be on teh main page. Just join like 10 games at once, then delete all the new tabs. Not the greatest solution, but it prevents doing what you're describingWhompingFool wrote:I'd like to see a change in the manner that we can join games when using GAME FINDER. It's frustrating to check all the preferences every time you want to join a new game, only to have to do it again and again for every game.
I pick my preferences, find a game, and join it. I then try to go "back" on the computer and it sometimes won't let me, saying the page has expired. Now I have to do the whole thing over again.
I'd like to see something where we can join multiple games without having to enter our preferences every single time.
It is completely possible that I am doing something wrong or there is a quick fix. If anyone has any suggestions for me, they would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Right click and "New Tab" does the same thing Fabled is saying.

And assuming that you have set the wheel to do that... Mine is set on "back" instead.FabledIntegral wrote:Mouse wheel is fasterlancehoch wrote:Right click and "New Tab" does the same thing Fabled is saying.. Assuming ya got a mouse wheel, of course.

Ah, mine does and always has done that naturally - I thought that was default. I have a separate back/forward button on my mouseThezzaruz wrote:And assuming that you have set the wheel to do that... Re: SUGGESTION - joining games in Game Finder.
Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll give them a try.
I guess what I would maybe prefer is just a 'checkmark' box next to the games that you want to join and then have a 'submit' or 'join games now' button next to the arrow buttons at the top and bottom of the page.
You could check as many games as you want, THEN hit the 'submit' (or whatever you want to call it) and it would join all of the games you checked.
No mousey wheely, controly clicky.
Granted, it maybe too slow when there is one spot open in a game and you want to get in it quick. But if you want to get in a bunch of games at one time, I think it would be more user friendly.
What do you guys think?

What would happen if a freemium player decided to check 5 boxes? How would it rank the priority of which game gets dropped?

How about if instead of taking you to My Games -> Games Awaiting Players, joining a game took you back to where you came from?

I think this one is even easier. (For everyone except perhaps Lack since he has to implement it, but since he's suggested it ...)lackattack wrote:How about if instead of taking you to My Games -> Games Awaiting Players, joining a game took you back to where you came from?
I too tend to join games using game finder and this would be a really useful addition. (And actually pretty simple to implement too I think.)
FREE M-E-Mbership and simple rules. Conquer Club - it's not complicated.

Great solution lack.lackattack wrote:How about if instead of taking you to My Games -> Games Awaiting Players, joining a game took you back to where you came from?
Actually, I would like it, because I can then look for a possibly better game. Or if I have two open slots, I can continue to search. The Ctrl+Click or Right Click does essentially the same thing.t-o-m wrote:freemiums would be annoyed...lackattack wrote:How about if instead of taking you to My Games -> Games Awaiting Players, joining a game took you back to where you came from?

If the freebies get ticked, so be it. Sell some cans or something and upgrade.

Re: SUGGESTION - joining games in Game Finder.
Perhaps y'all knew about this or not, but after I downloaded Firefox 3, I can join a game and then hit 'back' with no problems.
Pretty sweet.
Maybe Firefox had nothing to do with it, but all's well on this side of the keyboard.

Choosing Multiple Games to join.
When searching for new games to join in either "join a game" or "game finder". it would be useful after selecting the game types you are looking for to be able to select multiple games from the list of games available rather than joining one and then going through the process again of selecting the game type, cards, map etc
Re: Choosing Multiple Games to join.
click on the link with your mouse wheel (if you have it), it'll open a new tab to My Games, and you'll have joined the game without having to browse back to the game finder.
or, click with your right mouse button, then Open Link in new Tab (or window, your preference). The same happens.
Though I agree it would be useful, it's not top priority

Join multiple games of the same format in one search through
Join multiple games of the same format in one search through Game Finder
As you are joining new games, instead of having to keep going through Game finder time and time again, be able to check boxes for the multiple games you would like to join
This will allow you to join multiple games (of the same format) in one move and save time
