Thanks very much, lancehoch, appreciated!

Once everyone is happy with the mechanics , I'll look to remove the now superfluous dropdown info
as it's all in the popup now. Plenty of scope for more map features.

Note it is easy to see all of your weak spots (and everyone else's) using the latest feature, also useful
if you're getting to know a new map.

I had coded a turn replay feature where it graphically stepped through the turn moves on the map,
but removed on the grounds of overkill...

I was wondering if you are seeing the same image I am seeing with the menu. If you look at the red 'X', below it there is the beginning of the black border line. I think you should move the magnifying glass and the 'X' one pixel to the left so that the border is complete. Also, along the bottom, I am seeing a one pixel line where your background is not there, but the site's background is there.

Ok, I can see the one pixel gap below the 'X' where you see the site background so
fix is awaiting upload but I cannot see the other problems - what text size are you using (normal?)

Do you mean to the right of the X?

I notice that you get blurred images with larger text sizes in BOB so I've only concentrated on getting normal size working.

I believe I am using normal text size.

This is an unaltered cropped version of the menu. If you look at the bottom right corner of each of the game lines, you can see the first pixel of the black border.

The one pixel across the bottom is now fixed. I still cannot see the border. Maybe, if you draw the border in last there would not be a problem?

I found this script useless for me. It doesn't automatically update like the map so whether I use this script or jump to next playable I still have to do a page reload and this script is more effort. Would be invaluable if it auto refreshed like the map does.

this is a really great script!
apart from the fact that it slows down your computer BIG TIME!
i think ill just set it to only be on when im on
http://www.conquerclub.com/player.php?mode=mygames
and not
http://www.conquerclub.com/*
if you could add a button that you can easily click it on and off that would be really great :)
EDIT:
also it would be good if you made the games listed a drop down menu

The gray background extends off the menu on the right, seems to be at the 84% mark. If I was watching fewer games/ had a faster connection, it would be pretty transient.
I figured out what's happening -- the scroll bar grows with each game you add to the turn watch -- it's not scaled to the width of the menu.

I've had to add some prefixes to that list:
=mygames1
=next

but overall a good idea to limit the use to a few pages.

chipv, I just noticed that when you changed the background earlier, the gray overlay still has one pixel missing across the bottom. This only occurs when the cursor is over the map image or the "X/Xp, rdX" areas.

The script pop-up map isn't displaying the Crossword map for me. See Game 2523007.

Update: Same for the New York City map. All the icons, labels, etc. are there, but no map image.

What makes you think there is an auto-refresh on the normal map?
The clock is local javascript, the page does not auto-refresh as far as I can see.
(In fact you could tell that anyway because there is a refresh map link under the clock)
I could make the popup map clock tick if that makes you feel any better but sounds like you're not
going to find this useful anyway.

There are a huge number of additional features which others have found useful.
If you read through this thread you may or may not find features you will use.
I haven't gotten round to updating the head post to list all features but there will
be a help/info tool coming soon.

Thanks for the constructive feedback anyway.

Hi, again, t-o-m. I agree it's slow - there will be a MUCH FASTER version but unfortunately
doesn't look like anytime soon because I need some other work on the site to be done.
I plan to do some optimising anyway so we'll see.
The suggestion of modifying your include/excludes is a good one or perhaps removing some games.

I could present the list and load on demand, that will be fast, I can try that if you like.

Question:

I have used the script and it worked fine until:

a) I have started a new game, and clicked on a 'include this game' in Turn Watch (before anyone has joined)
b) game was not filled, so I have deleted this game.

Now, ConquerClubTurnWatch does not load. Blue load bar goes to 94% and it stops.

-I have tried refreshing - does not work
-I have installed and reinstalled CCTW- new installation does not work (blue bar loads to 94% and freezes)
-I have cleared Mozilla Cache -

It appears that CCTW is still trying to load the game I have deleted???
Any ideas?

I will look into this, thanks for the report.

For now, uninstall CCTW, and also check the uninstall associated preferences box.
This will clear the data CCTW is using. Now you can reinstall it again using the link in
the head post and it will work again. You will have to set up your alert and sort options
again because all the data is cleared by uninstalling the associated preferences.

Thanks

Updated with continent and team highlighting

Popup Map highlighting

Quick explanation which I've failed to give so far:
Click on the magnifying glass (search) icon on the game label and
a popup map with turn log appears.

  • Hovering over map
    Hover over any territory.
All neighbours highlighted in occupying player colour.
Black border means neighbour has more than twice the armies than this territory
Grey border means neighbour has more armies.
  • Hovering over turn log
Each move will be highlighted on the map.
Hover down through the log to walk through the whole turn.
    Green is fortying territory.
Green with white border is fortified territory.
    Yellow is deployment
    Red is attacking territory.
Red with white border is conquered territory.
  • Hovering over player names at bottom of popup
    All occupied territories highlighted
Grey border means a neighbour has more armies
Black border means a neighbour has at least twice the armies
  • Hovering over continent names at bottom of popup
    All territories highlighted.
Black border means neighbour has more than twice the armies than this territory
Grey border means neighbour has more armies.
Continent name will have same background as owner.
Bonuses in brackets next to name.
  • Hovering over team numbers at bottom of popup
    All joint occupied territories highlighted
Grey border means a neighbouring team has more armies
Black border means a neighbouring team has at least twice the armies

For some reason the map popup is not working for Game 2527640. Every time I hit the magnifying glass, the page jumps up, but the map does not appear. Also, what would happen if I hit the magnifying glass on one game, then before closing that map, I hit the magnifying glass on another game?

There should be no problem in clicking magnifying glass before closing map windows, the window will just redraw with the new map.

I hadn't considered map objectives and the feudal war map (2527640) along with any map with map objectives won't work but it's an
easy fix and I'll do it now, again, well spotted!

Feudal war maps / and bombardment maps (and maps with objectives) should be ok now with the new highlighting.
I've put a scrollbar where there are a lot of 'continents'.

Hey Chipv,

You script has come a long way in a week...

Couple of things...

a) Deleting is a bit flaky if you do more than one delete.
- it doesn't actually delete the other games you try to delete
- if you then click on a game the indexes are out of sync from the deleted game

b) Adding games seems to only work if you do one game.

c) The map popup thingy is to wide for my res (1280x800)

C.

Hi, yeti_c, nice to hear from you again after a week!

Deleting had had that bug for ages. I will get round it.
Adding games should be ok in the complete absence of deleting. I have added dozens of game from listings pages for example.
What is going wrong there?

As for the size, it sizes based on your map size options. Evidence suggests you use a large map with your resolution so
I will look into the largest map sizes available but the popup map width is map size + 160 but I can't shrink the map.
I can shift its position so if your popup would fit but is too far to the right then I can fix that.
