Faith

Postby Knight of Orient on Mon Nov 06, 2006 1:29 pm

For those who wish to talk about God, Jesus, Christianity, your faith, this is your place to speak. If you come in here, please abstain from spamming, seeing as this thread is for believers to talk about their faith in, it would be appreciated if people dont come in and turn it into something it is not meant to be. If you have questions about God, Christianity, this is a place where you can ask those questions.

Why do this here?

i guess, thanks for the correction
it does state "your faith" which could be in the Pineapple God for all I know, but it did kind of imply Christianity at first

Um, no it didn't. The thread is called faith not christianity.

Why not set up a clan for this stuff?

I'd like to know a bit about programmes run in other churches for men. What's the model you're using? How successful is it? We are starting now to get young families back into my denomination - something missing for the last generation - but the women are usually more active than the blokes. I have a name for a group - Friends of Jonathan - but will delay implementation until I move to a new church next year. FofJ comes from 1Sam18:1-4, which is:

18 When David had finished speaking to Saul, the soul of Jonathan was bound to the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul. 2Saul took him that day and would not let him return to his father’s house. 3Then Jonathan made a covenant with David, because he loved him as his own soul. 4Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that he was wearing, and gave it to David, and his armour, and even his sword and his bow and his belt.

Use of commonly recurring Biblical symbols would be good though... i.e. lamb, fish, shepherd, mustard seed etc.

THE MUSTARD SEEDS!!!!!!!

it IS considered untraditional by most Churches to have a woman pastor. The Bible is pretty explicit in stating that women are not the dominant gender, and it is generally noted that the 12 disciples were all men.
