game 2515028.

shows me owning lubbock but does not appear in any of my dropdowns.

i own amarillo but cannot attack pampa, the only option it gives me is to attack lubbock... which i own.

is this fixable while a game is in progress?

methinks my first turn is... not so good lol.

well i attacked lubbock and the troops on pampa took the hit, i saw what was listed earlier in the thread and figured it was worth a try.

i still own lubbock however and cannot see the forces in towakwa, this is a fog of war game.

Unfortunately we've still a few issues, and RG has wandered off. Hope to see him back soon. :)

Code: Select all
Test results:
line 1: ÿþ <?xml version="1.0" ?> - XML declaration allowed only at the start of the document

line 2: - <map> - Start tag expected, '<' not found

Summary: 2 errors and 0 warnings detected in ttw code 5-23-08.txt

Invalid xml. there are minus signs everywhere.

Could you always post what you have fixed in your update, so we know what has been done, and if there are any outstanding issues?

rg asked me to help. My mac supports .txts and i think the reason it has the
XML Check wrote:Invalid xml. there are minus signs everywhere.
is because i think that whenever he put in some spaces so u could tell areas appart, it changed it to look something like this:

Code: Select all
- <continent>

im checking the xml to see if i can correct anything, and if i can ill post the improved xml link for downloading

p.s. ill change it to a .xml

edit: opened the .txt in smultron (the xml app i use) and sure enough it looked like i had been right about the -'s

edit2: ok i made that bigger so u might notice it. I went through the xml and it should work now, and i tested it and here is what i got
Warning: Territory Leakey has border Cannon 3, but not vice versa

Warning: Territory Zapata has border Cannon 5, but not vice versa

Warning: Territory Cannon 1 has border El Paso, but not vice versa

Warning: Territory Cannon 3 has border Del Rio, but not vice versa

Warning: Territory Cannon 4 has border Eagle Pass, but not vice versa

Warning: Territory Cannon 5 has border Brownsville, but not vice versa

Error: Min reinforcement has value of zero

Summary: 1 errors and 6 warnings detected in TexanWars.xml (13 continents, 57 territories)

and im just wondering if rg wants me to put in the <minreinforcment> tag

edit 3: eh im just gonna add it

edit 4: eh i was about to add it, then realized i dont know how...

Postby Lexitonia5 on Wed May 28, 2008 8:22 pm

Has anyone had a problem in the new Texas Wars Map. Specifically, I cannot attack Pampa in the Panhandle section.

yea thats been a problem, and this should probably be merged with the original thread, which if it should, then one of the mods would probably do that soon

and btw, im working on fixing that for rg, the maker of the map

Yeah.. I was just playign this map and noticed the pampa and lubbock territories are crossed over with each other.

I would imagine it'd be a quick fix for mapmakers.

yes it usually is, but the coding for the map is really large and makes it hard to find just 1 error, when there were some other things that effected gameplay

actually there was that and a couple other things that i found which i changed. And no, changing the borders would not have fixed that.

Someone may need to take a good look at this situation: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=52439&p=1353624#p1353624

I noticed it and went to the game the guy was talking about and something weird did happen. He's right, DomQuebec somehow wound up with a territory he never conquered. XML problem perhaps? I doubt it's a "cheat code" like the accuser says though.

I said it before, I'll say it again. The coordinates of Pampa and Lubbock are switched. Switch the coordinates and everything is fixed.

bryguy says there are other problems. I have not heard of that at all.

Take the old XML switch the coordinates of those two I said above. Post the XML here and I'll do it f*ck. Actually fine.

If there were any other problems than the Lubbock/Pampa switch let me know and I'll fix that

Bryguy's fix is up...is there any difference between his and edbeard's? (This is why we like the cartographer/team of cartographers that worked on the map fixing the XMLs!)
