A lot.

Oceania is too circular, and looketh like a wagon wheel. They shouldn't be so connected.

Iron for the forge?

Postby zim on Tue Nov 07, 2006 9:30 pm

Various edits mostly aesthetic. Only structural one is leaving the New Caledonia/New Zealand linkage, I accept that with it Oceania does have a circular flow but I think Gavin's earlier argument about 'dead ends' is more compelling...

Does Antarctica count as a continent?

no, Antarctica does not count as a continent.
This map is really shaping up well. I was a bit sceptical when this was initially suggested, but the effort that has gone in to it has been awesome and looks like paying off massively.

I've already talked about Antartica some time ago.
I have an idea and also if will remain just as it is, I really would like to comunicate you.
I was thinking to extend the Antartica's picture also to his southern part that is not shown in this map. In this way it would be possible to add a fifth territory (for instance we could call it South Pole) that borders with all the actual four antartical territories.

this addiction would have two main goals:

1. Create a competition for holding South Pole (giving +1 bonus for holding it). In this way many nations (players) will fight to hold it.

2. Solve an elegance problem: give the possibility to cross Antartica through South Pole!

its fine as it is gameplay-wise. If its not broken, dont' fix it. Antarctica works just fine as a "gateway" area as it is.

Why is this not final forged??

Zim said it was too cold to send your army into south pole, have to stay on the edges of the continent.

Maybe you should draw a line to Levant, though it might be obvious once you have numbers, its a bit hard atm.

              Final Forge

---Accurate World Map/World 2.0 has reached the ‘Final Forge’ Stage. I've revived this thread from the pits of the Foundry furnace and have examined the contents. Nearly every major concern has been addressed. If there are any other current concerns, please make your voice heard. There will be at least two days (but may extend pass that) for you to post any objections; if no one has posted any protest after two days the map will be deemed finished with the 'Foundry Brand' of approval and will be submitted for live play. If after two days there is still discussion going on it may continue until said discussion has reached the conclusion that the map has reached its final and polished version.

Post questions and concerns if any.
