Reserving spots in public games

Post by mibi »

Concise description:
  • When creating new games, game creators should be able to reserve slots for certain players
Specifics:
  • The game creator can have a password for each slot on in a game, then they give the password to that person so they can join. Some slots do not have to have a password in which case they will be public
This will improve the following aspects of the site:
  • This will allow team mates to join team games on assigned teams. no longer will all team mates have to be online at the same time to get on the same team.
  • No longer will team mates have to make team games private. They can assign them selves to team1 and make the rest of the spots public. Rather than start a private game, join up and then make it public via the callouts forum, which is unnecessary work.
  • this will really increase the amount of teams, since it will be easy for tripples and quads to play together without jumping through all the hoops.

IMO a neater way of doing this is for the game's original creator to "switch private games to public" - this is already on the TO DO list.
