i was also thinking that DiM has his OWN section on the start a game/game finder!

The XML that BOB is telling me conflicts with what actually happened. BOB says (0+0+4) on my starting bonuses, and I got 3 armies to deploy, despite the legend specifically saying "no bonuses unless they're on this legend". Is this a game engine problem or is a clause missing in the XML?

Due to "Age of Realms: Mayhem" pushing 3 lines (Lack likes to keep the names on a max of two lines for uniformity with our current Start A Game / Finder set up). So he made a decision to change the names to 1, 2, 3.

I would like it if its legend was truth in advertising. :P On a more serious note, I think I'm going to end up liking AoR 3 more than the other two. With the proper XML in place, early bonuses will be hard to get, but once you get them they'll help a ton. Not having to get pairs to get the bonus is a good plus in my book, as it keeps the "zomg, split forces, and the dice went sour" problem I've had in AoR 1 and 2 from happening.

it's a glitch in the xml that will be corrected as soon as lack uploads the new xml.

glad you like it.

lol at the advertising.

as for the rest i'm glad it plays better. i tried to make it different than the other chapters and at the same time make sure it attracts both the old fans as well as new ones.

oh well, i guess i can return to work now, instead of playing aor: mayhem. god damn job :(

If you try to play an 8 player game then you are eliminated by a neutral player as soon as you start your turn. This will give the player who plays last the game by default and all other players lose points.

Is it possible for TPTB to cancel off the 8 player games so that those of us who have already been eliminated don't lose points? :(

There are currently 12 x 8 player games which are listed below:
2484769, 2485287, 2485288, 2485290, 2485291, 2485294, 2485301, 2485303, 2485311, 2490459, 2490752, 2491077

Edited to say thanks to TPTB who have already managed to delete these games.

A Complaint

Postby jnd94 on Thu May 22, 2008 7:51 am

Now I try not to make threads about bad dice or horrible high-ranks, but I do find something a bit unfair.

In the new Age of Realms:Mayhem map, there is a part that can drastically change the game in favor of one player. Keep in mind I'm talking about 1 vs 1 games. The complaint is the Sanctuary. Whoever gets the sanctuary can a huge advantage over the other player. In the first round the player with sanctuary can take all the blood waters and have 4 armies left, at best. While all of the other starting points are 2-4 territories away from a port, and with 7 armies (how much you start with) you can't get close to breaking the blood waters. If you are lucky enough to get to port, you still wouldn't be able to break all of the blood waters.

By the next round, the player with the sanctuary will have usually at least 10 more armies than the other player. By then, this is a huge advantage because the other player will still be at only 3-5 armies.

I propose a change that Sanctuary always starts as neutral. This way nobody has the unfair advantage.

There seems to be a bug in this: http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/1/19/ ... alms_3.xml

Which you submitted as a fix a while ago. Not sure if you've fixed it yet...too many bugs in all these maps to keep track of almost!

Surely, I should have got 3 armies for 1 terr like the other guys... I don't see anything explaining it on BOB.

Actually - BOB does explain how it works - it tells you your territory bonus - for this map it is 1 at all times.

The original idea was for 0 - however we can't do that for stalemate purposes...

So the XML has been updated from 0 to 1 and it now works as expected.

But why do some players get 3 for territory bonus and others only one, in the same game?? See for instance 2495720 or 2495724.
