At this point it is only compatible with Firefox. BOB is actually a user-created script. It is not technically run or managed by CC itself. The staff at CC is working on getting many of the features in BOB to the site as a whole for everyone's enjoyment and use. Until then, I'm afraid the only options left for you would be to 1) slow down or 2) download Firefox, and the BOB script. I would recommend the latter, since Firefox really is far superior to internet explorer, plus there are dozens of add-ons available for Firefox to assist you with Conquer Club.DoctorX wrote:Ajax Bob? I did a google for it and only found where it was compatible for Firefox. Where do I find it for Internet Explorer? Can I have a little more instructions on what to do once I find it. Also have Vista - which has had known issues with many things.

to much of coding for lack
, imagine implementing all the options of bob in the site, where do you put the fact that bob is changing daily do to the fact of complex maps, or new xml gimmick's
lack would have to update the site daily, imagine the lag there
download firefox, get greasemonkey, and get BOB, its simple to do and simple to use

Limited Undo or Confirm button
I know you've rejected the Undo suggestion, but I'd like you to reconsider, at least on one level.
It's very easy in this system to accidentally fortify or reinforce a territory you have no intention of reinforcing, especially in games like Feudal and Siege, where territories are identified by number rather than a distinct name. In a real board game, such mistakes would simply not happen; you'd just shift the accidental fortifications to the correct territory. I think this ought to be an option here, either through a limited Undo command, or through a confirmation button.
Undoing attacks, of course, makes no sense.

UNDO DROP
Not sure if this has already been brought up or not, I dont have time to read everything... But i think everybody should get an option to undo a drop they have made. I for one more than enough times had maybe mis read the country name or thought i was a different color or even touched the mouse wheel by accident and accidently dropped armies no where near where i wanted. I believe that An undo drop would be very benificial and I dont believe it would be something that can be abused really either. Its pretty harmless and will eliminated all those accidental drops that could ruin a game for both sides. I dont write in forum very much but I like to get this suggestion out there somehow and im not even sure i wrote this in the right format either.
Re: UNDO DROP
One problem with this is freestyle games where it could be abused, as oh he deployed there, my deployment would be better here then.

Re: UNDO DROP
you are correct about the freestyle games, possibly the game types where it can be abused, dont make it an option i guess. And freestyle would be the only one right?
Re: UNDO DROP
Bah i jus looked at lacks rejected list and pretty much this was one on the list of rejected ideas already... so looks like this is one feature we will never have the pleasure to trial run with.

Re: UNDO DROP
You could always turn on the BOB confirmations. That'll give you a pop-up "ok/cancel" window.

That's what I have, but an undo button in sequential games would be nice also. Too bad Lack rejected it....Timminz wrote:You could always turn on the BOB confirmations. That'll give you a pop-up "ok/cancel" window.

Why do you need 2 separate things to keep you from making mistakes?Ray Rider wrote:That's what I have, but an undo button in sequential games would be nice also. Too bad Lack rejected it....Timminz wrote:You could always turn on the BOB confirmations. That'll give you a pop-up "ok/cancel" window.
Re: UNDO DROP
i would just use the bob program to do that, but at work i am not allowed to have that sort of things on here. I cant download or install any programs of my own :-\. ANd thats where i do most of my playing is down time at work. Maybe if the site did that itself that would work asking to confirm Or undoing either one would be ok with me as long as i didnt have to download or install ne program.
Re: UNDO DROP
I find bob doesn't prevent mistakes for me.
1. If its a name similarity I don't notice until my armies appear where I didn't want them.
2. With the 10 second page refreshes the page often refreshes while I'm making my selection reverting what I selected I don't notice and the popup confirmation doesn't say what I'm confirming. Many times I will deploy all my armies when I only wanted to deploy part or deploy to the first name on the list because of the refreshes.

Re: UNDO DROP
I've heard reference to this before, but have never had it happen to me. I've even "tested" it specifically. Does anyone know why some people have this problem, while others don't?Renee_W wrote:2. Re: UNDO DROP
Why couldn't Lack implement a pop up window that says:
My most recent misdrop was because of the computer at work. It has a touchy scroll button on the mouse, and when I clicked to drop, the scroll button scrolled up to the next territory. I was mad for a week over that, because I came back from losing the game early on, and dominated the board!
So I am all for something along the lines of at least giving you a second chance before you commit to a particular drop.
Does this make sense?
I don't know about an undo button, but a second chance pop up window would be alright in my book.
Then again, misdrops are just part of the game, and your enemy might do the same and allow you to win a game because of it.
I would be more in favor of a second chance window than a Undo Button feature...
Just like if you are deleting an e-mail or program, your computer asks you if you are sure if you want to do it. That way the armies don't have to be dropped, and you are allowed at least a second chance to read where your armies are being dropped...I am only mentioning this because I have lost crucial games where I thought I was dropping in one place and then my armies pop up somewhere far away from the action and i am unable to attack."Drop XXX Armies on XXXX
Are you sure? YES/NO"

Re: UNDO DROP
right just install bob and you will get a confirm screen
Re: UNDO DROP
Like i said before I am not allowed to install anything on my computer at work...so if there was another way cause i also have the touchy mouse problem as well just a little accidental movement and armies are placed somewhere else at the last second. And also In the real game in person this would never happenNew postby blakebowling on Fri May 16, 2008 6:14 pm
