That's why this particular forum exists, for all of the non sequiturs and non-Risk type stuff. We get our own little corner in the huge ass forums.P Gizzle wrote:is pointless! anyone else agree? i am Christian, but i see no point in arguing in a forum on a site that is a risk related game. Will you relax P Gizzle? If you don't want to argue on the internet, then don't, but if the rest of us want to let out some steam, I don't see why we shouldn't. I find it pretty fun, personally. I happen to enjoy theology and politics, and since it's difficult to find an audience for such topics in my peer group, I do so here. It's not a problem, it's just fun. Playing risk online isn't "helping" anyone either, but it's fun. If you don't find it fun, then make like a <insert object here> and DON'T VIEW THE THREAD!
"The Nation that makes a great distinction between its scholars and its warriors will have its thinking done by cowards and its fighting done by fools."
well all im saying is that now people like Jay and VT are making bad names for their religion or lack there of. all they do is bicker in circles. if you want to argue, do it in person, or at least listen to each other. i too enjoy the threads, but i don't think they help anyone, considering everyone is soooooooooo close minded

Closed minded? Well if closed-minded means having a belief and being able to stick to it despite criticism and opposition, then I'm quite happy to be closed minded. I don't post in those threads to save the world, I post in them so people may perhaps better understand my beliefs, and i theirs. Furthermore, I have no plans to ever meet or speak personally to any of you in my lifetime, so taking it to a personal level won't help.P Gizzle wrote:well all im saying is that now people like Jay and VT are making bad names for their religion or lack there of. all they do is bicker in circles. if you want to argue, do it in person, or at least listen to each other. i too enjoy the threads, but i don't think they help anyone, considering everyone is soooooooooo close minded
Finally, I must again emphasize that you may at any time exercise your right not to click on a thread you find annoying, or in which you think people are partaking in "closed-minded" arguments.

I know, i'm just making a point by saying, "what are you guys trying to solve? oh, i know, nothing. if anything it makes the Religion issue even more apparant".
Hey, look, im a christian, but im just saying that nobody's opinion changes from something you see on an internet forum

Well I don't do it to change opinions, at least not on the internet. I do it for fun, and to refine my beliefs so that I may be more effective how I present my religion in daily life.P Gizzle wrote:I know, i'm just making a point by saying, "what are you guys trying to solve? oh, i know, nothing. if anything it makes the Religion issue even more apparant".

Really, I see myself as perfectly open-minded, more than most in fact. I read and consider just about everything anyone in the religion thread has to say, just because I haven't changed my mind doesn't make me, or anyone else, closed-minded.
Furthermore, I don't see why there somehow has to be a point inherent in the thread. If pointless threads were banned from this particular part of the message boards, it would be nearly empty.
