Hey im really confused. How do tournaments work? how do you join them?

Tournaments are a series of games that end with a champion being crowned. You get/lose your normal CC points in each game. Browse the Create/Join a Tournament sub-forum for a tournament that interests you. Their first post includes the information you need to know.
