Teams and players...
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the beginning of the United States Football League, I will be replaying the 1984 spring season when the league was at its highest point with 18 teams. (Too bad the league got sabataged in 1985 by an overzealous Donald Trump).
This is a 1 vs. 1 tourney and I plan to play 2 games each week. I expect the tournament to run from mid-May through mid-August.
Open to premium and freemium players both.
The regular-season is 18 games with the top eight teams advancing to the playoffs. Regular season games are simple head-to-head showdowns played according to the real 1984 USFL schedule. The playoffs will feature a more intense format with a quarter-by-quarter scoring system. Each playoff game will consist of 4 CC games, 5 if it goes overtime.
To sign up pick a team and choose your homefield settings...map, cards, forts and fog.
All games are sequential. Banned maps include Age of Might and Age of Magic.
Playoff scoring formula (quarter-by-quarter...4 total CC games)8 teams qualify for the playoffs...4 from each conference. Division winners will be the top seeds, leaving two wildcard qualifiers from each conference.
ā¢ 2 quarters (1st and 4th) will be played on the home team's settings (higher seed)
ā¢ 2 quarters (2nd and 3rd) will be played on predetermined maps for each Conference to be announced before the season starts.
(Neutral maps for the West -- Malta and USA)
(Neutral maps for the East -- San Francisco and South America)
ā¢ if needed the overtime period would be played on the home team's map.
