Well yeah if u wanna be a dick about itgdeangel wrote:You need to refine the poll. Unlike when similar polls were done back in the 80's there are now dozens of "coke" and "pepsi" flavors out there.
Did anyone else think that Pepsi Twist (don't even know if that's still around) seriously tasted exactly like Coke Classic? (I agree that regular pepsi and coke taste different....)
My fav has got to be vanilla coke... good stuff. After that comes cherry pepsi (not as much aftertaste as cherry coke). Then lime pepsi. Then Cherry Coke Zero, which actually tastes better than cherry coke, but not quite as good as cherry pepsi. Then comes Pepsi Free, which unfortunately, is no longer around, but gets points simply for the having the boldness to stand up to capitalist interests and so-called "market profits". I mean, what would you rather have in your hand... a can that says "Pepsi Free" or a can that says "Coke Zero". Whose got the mad marketting brains.
And what about Pepsi clear? Ran out of uncontaminated water in India to produce it I guess? Then there was "Coke". Not Cocca Cola, but just "Coke". It tasted like a half Cocca-cola, half TAB concoction. Maybe somebody lost the recipe for TAB, bc I never see that around anymore either. Anyway, "Coke" was around back when we were a forward thinking nation that believed in cars that could drive themselves and David Hasselhoff. Before it became cool to be nostolgic for the old fluted glass bottle, wavy writing, the rosey cheeked Santa Clause, and 67 Dodge Chargers with Jesica Simpson spread eagle over the hood in those really shorty shorty shorty where you can see the goodies but not the cash register.
I mean, come one, who really like the "Cocca Cola Santa"? If that fat guy was really drinking pop every day, his blood sugar would be so far out of whack he'd die from uncontrolled diabetes. So we gave up "Coke" for a marketting line where obese Americans suck down sugar thinking they'll never get diabetes because, of course, who is Santa really but.... Ooooppsss.... did I say too much. It's evil I tell you, pure evil! There must be a Santa add out there somewhere for Budweiser... can we bring that one back instead?
I'm not to much for that kind of stuff, though I did enjoy Pepsi Blue and Mountain Dew Black.Hitman079 wrote:Ah, yes, gdeangel, what ever happened to vanilla Coke? It was simply the best.
I have a very vague memory of a Diet Rite commercial with Lee Majors sitting in a hot tub with some honeys... I guess not everyone wanted to be like the $6MM man...Curmudgeonx wrote:Absolutely, RC Cola for the win.
Growing up in a rural community in the 70's, RC was it. And its evil progeny Diet Rite.
I'm pretty sure I'm the only person who liked Crystal Pepsi, even though it was the same damn thing without the food coloring. Did anyone else like the coke with lime? I remember the commercials were pretty damn catchy, and I enjoyed the twist.gdeangel wrote:You need to refine the poll.
