Concise description:

• Veteran status for veteran players

Specifics:

• Players with 50, 100, 250, 500, 1000 etc. games get a second rank

Sorry if this was already asked. I checked the stickies but couldn't find the idea there.

The idea is : Premium players (or all) get the second rank - veteran rank. If a player played more than 50 games - he gets one image. 100 games - another. And so on.
I came on the idea when I saw a player with 1900 played games and only a Cadet status (with 800 and something points). Even if he/she is a Cadet, he/she is a Veteran of this game. Such players should get a second rank image, like star in different color or something like that...
I mean two rank images to be displayed, in the same time - one for Cadet or whatever and one for Veteran rank...

If this person played 1900 games and couldn't stay above 1000, what makes them a veteran? If they were fighting a war, and had that kind of record, they wouldn't be a veteran because they wouldn't come back alive.

dont be too hasty to hammer him... it might just be that this friend got hammered when he first joined and hasnt played against higher ranked players much.

i like the idea... many other games have it...

it doesnt really do much apart from giving you some sort of indicator whether or not they deserved their rank.

This could also introduce a new problem - people playing/joining games just for rank and missing turns/not playing at all.
It should be consisted only of played games to the end.
Like adding "dropped games" number in the Games section... the term should indicate in how many games did a player missed three turns in a row.

Games: 1500 Completed, 100 (10%) Won, 500 Dropped (33%)

And then the Veteran status could be easily calculated of completed, won and dropped games... the example above should give a player no Veteran symbol...
but the following:

Games: 1000 Completed, 10 (1%) Won, 0 Dropped (0%)

should give the player nice Veteran status....

Of course, the math can be different, just noticing it has to have some sort of protection...

what if it reflected games won rather than games played? That would avoid people playing poorly/not playing at all just to increase their second rank.

not a bad idea either, but one could play only newbies and gain Vet rank easily...

I think there's a "Trophy/Achievement Room" on the to-do list. I'm sure there would be some "trophies" to include veteran status like this.

Exactly how would this differ from simply looking at the number of games someone has played and/or the length of time in CC (the date joined is listed there also)?

In the trophy room (which HAS been suggested before), it would be interesting to see who plays the most games, who has been here the longest ... I just don't think its necessary to add an icon to everyone's profile.
