How will you prepare for the Apocalypse?
yeah, what will you do when you realize everyone around you is dead? I myself am going to carve out my backyeard, and stick mines all around. make a little bunker and fill ti with explosives and automatic weapons. I'll be hired out as a mercenary.
If the Apocalypse is of natural disasters, Im screwed.

i'm working on a bug out bag and a battle belt. and i'm sequestering carbon by composting(slow high carbon method) since we're more likely to die from our own foolish agricultural practices.

Well, I'll be active duty Marine Corps if it's going to be at 2012, as some would believe, so I don't know what I'll do, but hopefully, it won't happen while I'm still a live and a kicking motherfucker.

Should it occur when most of the loons think it will, my friends an I are going to avoid the big cities like the plague. If some "gangsta" wants to try his hand at forest warfare, I'm going to laugh as I put the 7.92mm Mauser round into his throat at 300 meters.

Pray to Jesus to come to earth and help the pope beat the holy snot out of the zombies.
I'm pretty sure there's a lot more to life than being really, really, ridiculously good looking. And I plan on finding out what that is.

That is the worst thing you could do! You will never reach enlightenment if you die in such a manner. Thusly, one of the great reasons I quit doing drugs and alcohol so my being can evolve into higher states of consciousness. You will not be able to do so if you die all fucked up on drugs and shit. The best thing to do is to fully realize your demise without any type of altering influences to the mind. The transition will actually be easier than if you were to be drunk, high, die in your sleep, or even committing suicide.
So the best thing to do is to accept your death and face it without external influence.

you realise that "transition" and the "white light" you see beckoning you is just the way the mind reacts to the loss of blood or the slowing of the heart.
pilots who go through high-G training report a similar phenomenon when the g-forces draw their blood to their feet, and they pass out. the whole "white light" thing is bullshit. just your mind playing tricks on you -- a mercy, in some ways, that the mind hallucinates about a happy place as you die -- makes the loss of existence easier to take.
so of course you think that transition won't happen if you die in your sleep, are drunk or high or commit suicide...
cause the only people to have told you about the "transition" are the ones who fooled themselves into believing there is one.
have you ever seen an idealist with grey hairs on his head?
or successful men who keep in touch with unsuccessful friends?
you only think you did
i could have sworn i saw it too
but as it turns out it was just a clever ad for cigarettes.

Re: How will you prepare for the Apocalypse?
im pretty sure i already attained enlightment, so im not worried about it in the sense that i may or may not achieve transcendece at death.
Re: How will you prepare for the Apocalypse?
Depends. Is this a lame biblical apocalypse or a sweet zombie one? Because when #2 rolls around I intend to be the last man standing.
Re: How will you prepare for the Apocalypse?
It is already here, the first rumblings are there if you listen, like the distant thunder storm, it will arrive soon enough.
I bought myself an island.

If you really bought one I would like to apply to be a partner. I am currently installing fire alarms and would love to switch to Solar/wind/oceanic wave generation fabrication. Right after the installation of the diesel unit to run the welding machines for start up.
Re: How will you prepare for the Apocalypse?
I actually bought it on a whim. I fancied myself settling there, but I find the logistics of setting up have been beyond my present (but hopefully not future) means. I also (I have to admit) do still enjoy the trappings of civilisation for all its faults.2dimes wrote:You can't imagine how often I wistfully thing about this.Fruitcake wrote:It is already here, the first rumblings are there if you listen, like the distant thunder storm, it will arrive soon enough.

However, should I feel the heat is getting to high, I will pack my requirements, sell everything I have and head for it believe you me. I enjoy living, so I will be attempting to lengthen my stay within this mortal coil for as long as i can...
A friend did point out, that perhaps I should think about a budget for radar defence systems etc...at this point I did wonder what the hell I had taken on, should the shit really hit the veritable fan!
Re: How will you prepare for the Apocalypse?

There are some buildings, no present inhabitants.
Coconut trees, yes, and wild Pigs of all things, hardly surprising though, everywhere I have gone where The Brits went during their rampaging around the Globe seems to have Pigs.
Pork in coconut cream sauce anyone?
Re: How will you prepare for the Apocalypse?
Where coconuts grow pinapples grow also.
That's the garnish for wild porc.
Have you visited it?
