it's clear that you don't know a shit about football (yeah, i'm talking about FOOTBALL, the football that you actually play with your feet, not with your hands)

An American here.
I love football/soccer. I've coached youth and play in a co-ed adult league. I follow DC United in the MLS, Bayern MĆ¼nchen in the Bundesliga, Charleston Battery in the USL 1st Div, U of South Carolina Gamecocks, and the German and US national teams.

But unlike many of you people that see the world as black and white, I also love Football/American Football. I grew up playing it, coached youth and currently film for a high school team on Friday nights. I follow the Minnesota Vikings in the NFL, 20 year season ticket holder to U of South Carolina games and of course the Hanahan High Hawks.

I don't think I've watched a complete MLB game in years. I've been to 1 major league game and several minor league games. I do play softball and I can watch baseball in person on occasion, but watching a baseball game on TV just bores me to tears.

Thats because if someone from Guatamala said they supported City - You'd know they were taking the piss.

Liverpool, MU, R Madrid and Barcelona are about the only teams out there with worldwide support. I don't even think that Chelsea or Arsenal have a great deal of overseas support, (compared to those four.)

Leyton Orient supporter here btw

Football (American) is way better than Football (Everywhere else) because Football (American) has way more contact and higher scores (Ruby is better than both for contact, and it's fun)

watch this video too. notice it is the same guy from the las photo (djibrill cisse). this time he is playing for his country (france) instead of his club (liverpool). last time he broke his left leg, now he breaks his right leg and misses the world cup. this happened in early june, he is still unable to play.

you can also watch this video. this is a similar fracture. this time is the swedish player henrik larsson, playing for his club Celtic. he couldn't play for a year after this.

so, after seeing this, do you still think football isn't tough?

I've been supporting them for years...The SA sides r crap & I like watching good attacking soccer. Man City aren't too bad, I'd rather support them than any of the "top" sides.

Can't wait till the weekend to see Man U kick the crap out of Liverpool

It's called American Football because it is a variation on English (Proper) Football. Just like Rugby Football is a variation invented at Rugby university.

Oh and just for the record....Cambridge United all the way!!!!!!!

Sorry you guys have all missed the mark by along way.
The toughest and most exciting form of "football"is AFL and I challenge you to prove different.

Soccer as its called is full of sooks who fall over at the slightest hint of physical contact.

NFL is tough but all the stopping...... etc .......boring.

Rugby League is also tough but little skill required just big neck and head.

Union however is a classy, tough and great game but they all miss the mark when compared the game played downunder.

AfL is tough with skill (and the players when hurt try to hide it.)
Why would you let your opposition know you are hurting is beyond me.

It has alot of goals scored with the big marks and hard tackles, it just makes for a great game.

i just don't get american football at all - it seems too stop/start for my liking (probably due to the demands of tv advertising) and seems to be more focussed on physical strength rather than skill thereby requiring the wearing of a ridiculous outfit.
The beauty of football (soccer) is that all you need is a ball, no other equipment is necessary. This is why it's the world's favourite sport, played on fields, beaches, streets, shanty towns - wherever people want a 'kick around'
No sport can replace that univerality.
America, like in so many other things - you're on your own.

football you only need a ball. i mean, all the extra stuff is for officiality, just like why futbol players wear uniforms. and baseball all you need is a ball and a bat, and basketball you need a ball and a hoop.

to play soccer, you don't even need a ball! you could even play it with an empty bottle or something like that!! (it's not the same, but it works)
