Map Image restrictions
So recently we've all been having a bitch of a time with not being allowed to post images over a certain size since the forum update. This effected the whole forum but with our beloved foundry being probably the worst hit by the senario. However we have a saviour!
Our excellent UI coder Janiv has worked hard to develop the new and awsome [/code]*Note that we would like you to reduce the use of [img] tags where possible.
When your image will look like this:
Pretty cool eh? Now lets get back to what we all do best.
p.s. All OP's should be able to edit the first post of their thread. Anyone who has a post that they can not edit the image for any reason PM me or one of the other cartos to put it right.
Over and out.

Re: Map Image restrictions
should we just switch over to bigimg for small images too? Or does that not make a difference?
also, I don't think you need to quote the whole post unit

Re: Map Image restrictions
Um, I don't think it's working like it's supposed to for me. I have IE7, and the only difference I see when I click the BigImg's is that the text that otherwise falls behind it gets moved down, out from under it. It works, sort of, just not as described.
It can be misleading and cause problems, too, since for me it starts in the mode of spilling out over the forum (or whatever context it may fall—it really behaves dificultly in the topic review as I'm posting), it can hide comments following the image without significant notice. In the High Seas, update pg.10 [I, GP] (http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewto ... &sk=t&sd=a), it hid all text following the proposed map until the line at the end stating the last update time. It also spills out over half of the right column of the forums, hiding user information.
Thanks for fixing that. It works great now!

Isn't the bbcode case sensitive?
Should it be [bigimg] or [BigImg]
Also - I really don't like this. Put the damn avatars on the left side and let the images fill to the right side !?!?!

Re: Map Image restrictions
Yes, this seems to be good fir firefox, but what about IE7.
it simply doesn't work the same in IE7, in fact IE7 just allows the large image to override everything on the page in that space.
maybe something is being developd for IE7, that will allow it to work.

Gimil, I don't think this will lift the size restrictions for maps in play will it. We still have to work within the confines of the size restrictions, yes?gimil wrote:

However there is still plans further down the line to look into map sizes.

Re: Map Image restrictions
Its probably your screen resolution. Gimil probably has a bigger monitor than qwert or something.

Re: Map Image restrictions
What happens if you put an image as a link to a page?
URL would mean clicking image takes you to the website.
bigimg means pic just gets bigger...
TEST:
[/url]I'll edit what happens in a second.
EDIT:
OK. Apparently, clicking the image still makes it bigger.
The "click image to enlarge." text above the image links you to the page put in the URL box.
Weird....

as for qwert's problem with signatures it is about the screen resolution.
at home my laptop displays perfectly at work on another laptop (with a smaller res it misses a bit of the sig) and if i take the resolution even lower the sig loses an even bigger portion.
