I'm more concerned with how I'll get through the next day, or rather, the day at hand. In other words, not some event that, yes, it will happen (so not sence getting all in a twist about it) but not anytime real soon (besides, can't help people if I'm worried about the end, now can I?).

i read the first page and the last page. somewhere in between this got extremely off topic

If you think about it, not really, but the thread definitely hit its heyday previously. I'm half tempted to reread it...jarrett155 wrote:i read the first page and the last page. somewhere in between this got extremely off topic

Ok nevermind. But it is all too clear that page 194 is really where this thread picks up.

Re: Logic dictates that there is a God!
Incorrect. I haven't read the rest of the threat, but put quite simply, science does NOT say that life cannot come from non-life. In fact, most scientists believe that it's quite probably life has been created numerous times throughout history. Some of the life created from inanimate matter survives, some doesn't. But it's probably happened many times.jay_a2j wrote:First off put aside any bias that you may have...weather it be religious or anti-religious.
Now science has said, Life cannot come from non-life. Which is common sense... a rock will never reproduce since it is not living.
Then you trace back all life to its orgin...the very first living thing.
Where did it come from?
The ONLY answer is someting or someone has always existed. And that someone or something must have the power to create (or reproduce).
There must be a God.
Science also dictates evolution could never have happened (but lets save that for a later thread).
Thanks for using the classic religious peanut butter logic though, I find it hilarious.
EDIT: Please ignore me, I didn't see "2006" nor did I see the 222 pages or so.
Re: Logic dictates that there is a God!
Let me start off my reply with a couple of disclaimers. I'm neither a "science person" nor a "God person". Brought up Christian but not so sure it ever matched my own beliefs and instead of pursuing a BSc I went with an LLB (yay shark lawyers). Secondly, I've only skimmed this post because...well, its just too bloody long to actually read.
I am, however, amazed at some of the reasonably outlandish statements made in the few posts I skimmed. Hundreds of languages from nowhere? Hmmmm, have we forgotten the Proto language(s)? For whoever doesn't know this...alphadictionary.com (wonderful site, even has random latin translations [and if anyone is bored enough translate "quid videt in fructum sub oceano"])
Secondly, using the argument that science cannot prove -insert random blah here-, may very well be correct. But saying that it won't ever be able to prove is rather egotistical over our times. I'm pretty sure we've not yet reached the height of scientific development. It is however possible that we may never be able to DISprove the existance of a supreme deity. Whether this in fact means there is one or not seems a bit of a guess. I tend to think there is one..but I may not be overly surprised if I either picked the wrong exact belief or if there isn't one at all (although since I'll probably just poof if there isn't one I won't really be able to express surprise, heh).
This argument can continue till the end of time if our arguments primarily rely on what can and cannot be given proof for, as has previously been shown by the Flying Spaghetti Monster....dare I call it...theorem. But to reiterate, this also does not in itself show that a deity does not in fact exist.
So theres my two cents...and if someone else has already made these points, sorry, no infringement of any intellectual property rights was intended

I just want to say this. Evolution is CLEARLY all around us. Just go into a pet shop. We now know today that all dogs are descendants of wolves, man bred them to get the pet that he wanted............. Same thing goes for all pets. Is your ferret to violent? Just bread two docile ones together.
And lets not even start on greenhouses. I just wanted to say this.

Also, the Soviet Union did some wonderous experiments by which they created Amino Acids, and 'primordial ooze' in labs. They re-created what they belived the early earth was like. No, they did not create life, But they produced everything that life would need to form(from less than scratch). This stuff has been published since the '70s, and I am to assume that no one here has read them? I'm just curious, and do not mean to offend anyone.

Re: Logic dictates that there is a God!
Evolution is false. Scientific reasons for this being true..
1. Order cannot come from disorder. This is a scientific rule. Things colliding and blowing up will never create anything orderly. Thus, the big bang theory is out.
2. If we have evolved all the way from one species up, why then do we still have such a wide array of species? Would they have not all evolved with us?
3. The earth is in constant decay. Every bit of matter everywhere around us is constantly decaying, this is a fact. If this is true, how then can we evolve and become better and more intelligent etc.? How did we go from ooze to this complex beings we are now? That would contradict the fact that everything is in decay.
What I have said here is simply scientific facts, do whatever you wish, google them, look them up.. These points are, I feel, irrefutable evidence against evolution (unless the laws of science change)

There's already a thread where those exact points have been repeatedly tossed aside for the falsehoods they are. We can carry this to the Evo-Cre thread if you want me to rehash them with you. And I promise I won't call you names until after I bury your argument.TaylorSandbek wrote:... because thats a really logical rebuttle?
