And I believe that the scabbard is not in fact a scabbard. It is actually a pipe so ha! You're all wrong in your attempt for specificity!

Go to the old captain games in callouts and ask for the password - it is associated with the logo (unless I myself have been smoking weed long before last weekendenglish wrote:a pipe!....are you kidding? ...sounds to me like you have been smoking a pipe!
Trust me on this (or maybe not... your choice)

Re: How many swords on the "major" logo?
my belief is it is a ceremonial dress sword, as used by higher ranks while on parade. Crossed with a major's baton otherwise referred to as a pace stick.
So there you go, your question is answered.

Re: How many swords on the "major" logo?
cheerleaders use batons, majors twirl pace sticks.
Re: How many swords on the "major" logo?
a pace stick? I thought that was one on those giant compass things they had for measuring paces...obviously opened up a can of worms here

I think it is a fancy toothpick that was on a mini roast beef sand witch and when it got pulled out the top piece of bread stuck to the toothpick shaped like a sword and there you go. Looking from the side of course. Yep
Now that is all you will think of when you look at it.

Re: How many swords on the "major" logo?
WRONG! It is actually a rendition of my "sword" and "scabbard."
I win.
I win.
"Eh, whatever."

Re: How many swords on the "major" logo?
This looks alot like the British Army rank insignia for a major-general

As far as I know, there are no swords used to represent the rank of major in any branch of the US military. In the US, Majors are represented by a golden oak leaf:

But the question remains... what the heck is that 2nd stick?
I'm gonna guess that it's a Sword Cane...

Hmmm I would have to agree that it's a baton. From Wikipedia:
"The rank insignia for a Major-General is two gold maple leaves beneath crossed sword and baton..."

I still prefer to think of it as a crossed (sword used to stab martini olives) and (cocktail stirrer, the hollow kind that you can also use as a straw).
