Massive Doodle Earth Tournament
I was thinking of a 1024 player tournament featuring just about everyone.
I'll start it 4 groups of 256 each
Each Group (A,B,C,D):
1st round, 256 players, 128 games
2nd round, 128 players, 64 games
3rd round, 64 players, 32 games
4th round, 32 players, 16 games
5th round, 16 players, 8 games
6th round, 8 players, 4 games
7th round, 4 players, 2 games
8th round 2 players, group final game
Altogether:
9th round(semi-finals), 4 group winners, 2 games
10th round(finals), 2 semifinalists, 1 game
Each map should only take max 1 week. Doodle earth is small and easy to win.
First 8 Rounds: Standard, Sequential, Escalating Cards, No fog of war, Unlimited Fortifications
Semifinals: Standard, Sequential, Flat Rate, Fog of war, Chained fortifications
Finals: Standard, Sequential, No cards, Fog of war, Adjacent Fortifications (To make things harder/more strategy & less luck)
So guys? what do you think?

Wow...it's a great idea in theory, and if it worked, it would be amazing. But, you would/could be setting yourself up for a never-ending headache for the next year and a half.
Just imagine getting 1,000 people to join a tourney, keeping all the games straight, creating the games and paswords, getting reserves, assigning reserves to spots that were abandoned, sending the PM's for every game, etc.
I admire your courage for even thinking about it, but unless you want this as your full time job, walk away while you still can...

It´s one hell of an idea
I like it. Though as mentioned, it´s a looot and looot of work. Mostly sending out invites. My biggest tournament is looking for 350 people and it is a headache, I can say that. I´ve sent out appr 1000 invites and I´m still missing appr. 100 players. If you have time and you are ready to committ then I would say that go ahead and sign me up
