premium payment

Post by NoobX2000 »

I'm 17 and not allowed to pay premium myself and now I've "knocked doors" in a few weeks and all I get back is people afraid of getting their credit card hacked and stuff. So WHY is credit card the only way?

I suggest that you should be able to pay with w-ever else like SMS or simply lift your phone and call a number to get premium?

You can pay with any banking account through Paypal. Or you can buy a prepaid Visa from most any general store (grocery, etc..) to use as well.

but don't you think cc would earn so much more money if you were able to pay on more ways? To me it's much more complicated to do your stuff than just don't get premium.

What other ways are there? Check, cash, money order? Lack has said before he doesn't want to deal with the the hassle of going to the post office and dealing with bounced checks and such. And if you have a checking, or savings account, you can use paypal. It's free and simple to register and link it to your banking account. Cash isn't wise to send through the mail, so that leaves money orders. With those, you still have to go out and buy one though, just like with a prepaid Visa.

Are there any other ways you can suggest?

Not for Lack. Creates more work for him. We like to chain him to his desk so he can work on updates. If he has to go to the post office, then he'll want to stop for lunch, then stop by the store, then get distracted looking at puppies in the window, then he'll stop and get ice cream in the park and fall asleep daydreaming on the bench, then a bird will crap on his shoulder, so he'll have to go home and take a shower, then waster an hour blowdrying and styling his hair, and the whole day will be wasted. No, it's best if he just doesn't have to leave at all.

How is paypal complicated? I mean, I figured it out, so it can't be too hard. And as smart as kids are nowadays with computers, that should be a breeze. I mean, the older "kids" might have a problem with technology, but they can just ask a kid to help them..lol. (or ask on here)

How is buying a prepaid Visa complicated?

Sorry I didn't see that line at first. I doubt lack would want to hire someone just to answer the phone taking payments. And how would you pay over the phone, if not by credit/debit card?

Im not familiar with SMS payments?

I looked into SMS payments. Commissions were close to 50%

FAQ #11 on the Help page deals with this.

ok I get the point, BUT no one wants to pay to me cuz they're afraid of hackers, it's always a risk to type your credit card number on the internet, there's alot of people on this planet and also alot of hackers. I don't want my friends one day to discover "oh I lost 10 000$ tonight, wonder where they walked away?"

You can tell them that I've purchased many memberships over my time here and nothing has ever happened to me. If that helps of course.

Credit cards and most debit cards won't hold you liable for charges you didn't make.

Oh! I know! Why doesn't CC just give him a free premium for being so helpful.

Paying your money through this site is a safe bet. If even one person had their information stolen due to this site, the forums would be abuzz with the news and there would be a whole lot less people joining and paying for premium. There's a difference between being cautious and being paranoid. You (or your friends) are being the latter.

I've used my credit/debit card online for many years now with zero problems (knock on wood). I recently had my debit card + PIN stolen when I used it at a gas station pay station as part of a "skimming scam." So even if you're uber-paranoid, theives will get your info when and where you least expect it. So get a card that protects you and stop being so paranoid.

Hey NoobX2000,

Ask around and you will see that I am a trustworthy individual. If you want you can mail me $25 USD and once I receive it I will pay CC with my Paypal account. Let me know.

WM

P.S. And since I am posting this in the forum you can know I am not trying to cheat you.
