AK_iceman wrote:I got suspicious of Steve last week when he was still setting up his 512 man tourny so I asked the mods to do an IP check on him and several other players in the tourny. The results came back and stevegriffiths had about 30 other accounts. I then pm'd him about it and he admitted guilty.

Well I guess I should start with an apology as I've undoubtedly caused unnecessary extra work and hassle for you.

I'm afraid I just got greedy and stupid and wondered if it would be possible to do this...I'd got to 14th of the scoreboard, so am not exactly a terrible player at the game and was having plenty of fun without taking it too far.

Then I took it too far!

So - busted - no point in me hanging around trying to justify my actions - good luck with the site guys, I'll darken your door no further. Again, sorry for the extra work and hassle caused.

Steve

Him and his 30 accounts have been banned from the site. All his tournys will be canceled. I apologize to everyone playing in them, but myself and Highborn do not have time to take on more tournys right now.

Wow, that is a shocker. Did not see that one comming

Shocking. You can't trust anyone.

Steve stuck two of his multi's in to our first round game in his 'big one' tournament, just to make sure he got through to the 2nd round!

Not really. If he'd wanted to kill me he certainly could have. As I said, his intention appeared to be to ensure his progress in the tournament.

why steve? WHY?????

My grandfather developed a theory about the criminal mind after serving as a guard at Alcatraz during the 1930's. He said most of them were really nice guys, they just lacked remorse for thier actions... thier only real remorse was for being caught...

But what he said that really stuck with me..... he said most started small and GOT AWAY WITH IT the 1st time, so they did it again (rapid pulse rate, but again didn't get caught), and again (this time like no big deal), and again (seems normal now), and again and again... and by this time they truely beleive they are IMMUNE to being caught.................this continues until...........................they finally get caught... and they think it's NOT FAIR because they got away with SOOO much for SOOO long that they should not have been caught for something so small!

So how do you keep from being one of those people? You must always be true to yourself! Don't sell out EVEN when you are sure you can get away with something... because, you'll know it yourself, and you'll start down this road!

Well this little story has helped me to greive the loss of Steve, and to remind me that people will always disappoint people... I'm thankful that this was just a game Steve (no jail cells for CC cheating)....

Wow, that's really low.

I did like the guy though.

What are we gonna hear next? Steve created 511 multi's and mysteriously managed to win his own tournament?

I'm suprised he has the time to do all this

-run a 512 man tourney
-run a best of best tourney
-run about 40 accounts...
-have time to win everyones hearts to where they are talking about how cool and how suprising it is for 3 pages after he's gone.

This is unexpected to say the least, because I'd never thought he'd even have the time to think about multiing with all the stuff he was organizing.

Oh well, but multi is multi.

This is really shocking... I thought weidsun/kusonoki et al. was shocking but they never TALKED with anyone! Nobody really LIKED them!

Man, steve... man. I'll miss you, dude.

The odd thing is, I asked to get in that game with him and Scorba, in the first round of the Big One. He replied and said something like, "There's no way I'm going up against Scorba AND you in the first round!" I felt kind of flattered...

I'm really sad to see him go too. I never would have suspected him of doing anything bad.

Even after a confession, I still see him as an enthusiastic, friendly, and caring individual.

Yeah I know. Don't understand the fuss. A real man should be able to handle at least 60 accounts.
