It's not that hard to change ip you know.

If they had premium accounts, then majority doesn't rule....did they break the rules in game???? If not just ban them from the forums as they have nothing to do with actual in game play, by banning them from something they have paid for, could have legal ramifications, plus its based on them running their mouths on the forums and getting banned and then making another account to spam the forums, ever heard of the 1st Amendment, if they didnt cheat in game and were just running their mouths, then I say let em play........I got banned from a Counter Strike server and the clans message boards that I was apart of and had paid $$$ for, and they were quite sorry they took the actions they took agaisnt me....wrestler1ump wrote:I am glad to see the mods cracking down on abuse such as what Norse and tabasco did. If we are going to play by the majority rules, you can count me as one person who goes against the majority and says keep Norse banned. Not that any of us are going to have an impact anyways.

First Amendment does not apply to a private non-governmental forum.
When we join here, we agree to a set of rules in exchange for the ability to play either 4 games or almost unlimited games. These rules make up the Contract.
If someone breaches the Contract in a material way, the site provider has remedies, including revocation of rights under the Contract.
Listen children, just because your high school civics class is teaching you to fall in love with the Constitution, remember the Constitution is simply a contract between the government and the people.
99% of all day-to-day interaction is contract law. Even criminal activities can be viewed by a breach of the "social contract".

I would be pretty surprised if you could truly permanently ban someone. You likely have tools that make it difficult for someone to beat your ban... but I'm sure people with the right technical knowledge can beat those tools.wicked wrote:I love how people offer up information that'll only get you banned.Ask Norse how changing his IP is working out for him.
I have to guess that the biggest reason someone would get caught sneaking past a ban or perma-ban is that they can't help but act in a way that identifies themselves to the community. Talk in chats... playing all the same type of games, coming into the forum's... whatever. Obviously... if people got banned from the forum's and had to create false identities to keep coming here... these would be the same types of people who would otherwise want people to knwo they "beat" the perma-ban.
i dunno... maybe way off base... don't know the history... so hope I'm not offending anyone

Perhaps he used the same come-on's to you with his new persona that he used before.wicked wrote:

IP isn't the only identifier... and isn't always a good one, since I play from work and from home.
A cookie would work... assuming the idiot never clears his cache.
It's gotta be non-technical I'm telling yah!
