I'd just like to recommend hitting the "profile" button under Haha here and clicking "Find all posts by haha". It's quite the thought-provoking read.

Guys, I'm really sad. The captain of Montreal's hockey team looks like he may have just lost his sight in his left eye. I know people think hockey is violent but this kind of thing never actually happens, so I'm quite shaken by it. He's still a young man, he made this big comeback from cancer a few years back, he's a pretty small guy with a lot of heart...it just makes me sad. I know professional sports is stupid and everything but it still feels like he's a member of my extended family somehow, so I'm sad.

But it'll pass.

I'm fairly uninformed about the Iran situation, but without knowing anything, I'm gonna say I'm against the Americans.

...joking.

I guess it was only a matter of time before we'd start talking about "the good old days" of the thread, back when we were young and easy, when candy tasted sweeter, and we hadn't become mature and jaded. Like remember page 17? Oh, those were good times...boy, some of the crazy things we did back then...if only we could recapture that time... **adjusts position in chair, becomes keenly aware of arthritis and gout in doing so [homage to Andy]**

I haven't seen many movies about Iran. Was Not Without My Daughter set there?

It's no Tombstone, but we could bounce some Big Lebowski quotes around...

Hey Smithy - I've only played one doubles game - tend to prefer solo games - but I'll be your wingman if you need one.

And like Marv's - in that it's an accurate representation of what I look like? ...pretty much, I guess.

What about Creation vs. Evolution?

Can the world really exist through evolution.... and why have so many science books based their corriculem around a "Theory" when in fact a theory is something that still isn't proven correct?

Can we really understand the immensity that is our existance..... living on a planet in the middle of space, which is endless... and infinate.... :)

Science doesn't work on correctness being proven. It works on the theory with the greatest claim to cogency based on the evidence. If science only worked on correctness, there'd be very little in the way of prescription drugs in existence, for one thing. All knowledge depends on some leaps being made at some point - how far would history get if you couldn't discuss anything without being absolutely certain that everyone isn't lying about what happened?

I think the last sentence of Fish's post is best read imagining a Darth Vader breathing effect over top of it...

I like to imagine all of fish's posts with the darth vader breathing effect. It makes the forums much more interesting.
