Computer Problems, help plz!!
i'll try and describe this in the best way i can...
My AIM keeps signinf me on and off randomly, my internet still works, jsut AIM doens't. If i'm signed off (without me acutally knowing) i can type messages into windows i already ahve opened, but i cna't send messages to people i'm nmot already in a conversation with. In both situations the message never gets to the person when i'm signed off.
furthermore: All i see when i come back (spontaneously, at AIM's own discretion, i might add) on is "so and so signed on at this time" if i have a chat going on with them.
I dont' know how many of you are familiar w/ AIM's WAN protocols, but if anyone is, plz help me figure this out...

hey i have a wireless router. It is a Lynkys G router. It works fine for me. Never had a problem with it.
About your router problem though, if your wireless router has ports to connect to (the plug) and you don't need to plug any ethernet cord to a item (like a computer) i would just get rid of your first non wireless router.
Like for me, my wireless Linksys G router, had wireless and 4 ports in the back to plug into, so I have my modem pluged into the 1 slot in the router (the interent slot), and have 4 slots that a RJ-45 cable can plug into (thats the ethernet cable). So i have my ps2 pluged into the plug in, meanwhile my computer is on the wireless...easiest way to do it man. If you don't need alot of slots, just use the wireless one with the 4 slots.
Let me know if it works or just makes it more complicated for you.
Oh and what that other guy said about resetting the routers is also a good idea

well the problem is if we need to split the signal right after it leaves the modem (my dad's computer is right next to the modem), but its in the basement so it woudl be a terrible wireless spot. I myself am acutally plugged into the wireless router physically since my comp's somewhat old and has no wireless NIC card, its jsut for my sister's laptop (she doens't ahve any problems w/ AIM tho..)

try shutting everything off then disconnect everything and reconnect it all then turn on modem until it connects then turn on routers and finally the comps. i had a similar problem and this cleared it RIGHT UP
